The Gold Series GT-E34L-S Matched Power Medium (4-7 GT Rating) Quartets are an exclusive GT design with special "heat wings" attached to the plate for more power, longer life, and better tone. Big bottom, very dynamic, most powerful in it's class.
This is a specially modified power pentode with 15% more power and great overall tone. Big heat sinks attached to the plates keep it from sagging at full power so the bass stays tight and the treble crisp.

Soft, medium, and hard style descriptions refer to break up modes of the tube for an overdriven guitar signal. Soft-rated tubes break up easier and have the least headroom, yielding a heavier, harder distortion. In comparison, hard-rated tubes break up easier and have the least headroom, yielding a heavier, harder distortion, while medium-rated tubes fall in between.

Good tubes, good price, not much more can be said about vacuum tubes.
These tubes come matched, presumably by plate current draw, transconductance and 'hardness'. They are widely available from many retailers and on-line sources, but I found the price here at Musician's Friend to be the lowest.
I installed the tubes, re-biased the Marshall JCM900 4100 to 37ma and everything is great.
Not much more one can say about tubes if they work without issues.
The tubes are attractively labeled and packaged for safe transportation. Physical appearance and reputation of Groove Tubes is long established.
They work well and are competitively priced against other popular brands.

I had a local tech put in Ruby EL-34 tubes in my 100 Watt Marshall at his recommendation. Worse mistake I could have made. I can say the Rubies did increase the low end, but it made it mushy and flabby and muddy, High end lost sparkle and the mids were covered with a blanket. After putting up with this for awhile I decided to put in GT EL-34L-s matched quartet. They actually kept the same power in the low end and made it so much more articulate. High end sparkle now sounds like a Marshall should and the mids are layered and multi-dimensional. This was a major improvement in a already great amp. Now I can see why Plexis are so raved about.

I got these tubes biased in my JCM 800 reissue what I heard was so much better then the stock or any other EL34 tubes Ive heard it was tighter it doesnt get muddy when you drop tune your guitar It handles the bottomend better. should I say it has more balance Midrange which is a good thing cause it sounds harsh with the vintage 30s..thanx Musician friend
