these work exactly as advertised. i could hear everything with absolute clarity, at a greatly reduced volume. i've had hearing issues my whole life (i wear hearing aids), but that doesn't mean that loud noise isn't painful or damaging. i was always searching for the perfect ear protection, using everything from earmuffs, to wads of cotton, to in ear monitors, to my hearing aids turned way down. the in ears and the hearing aids work great, but are not always handy to use. i played with an extremely loud band last night for three hours, and my ears were fresh afterwards. these attenuate enough to protect what i have left, while alowing conversation between songs. i heard everything. it was wonderful. i'm confident i could use these in any musical situation. they may be on the small side for people with large ear canals (mine are small). i highly recommend them.

At first I really liked these.
They lower the volume a bit, while allowing one to still hear most of the music. They are certainly better then wearing no protection at all, but they don't lower the volume enough for most live applications, giving the user a somewhat false sense of hearing protection. After two hours or so they become uncomfortable to wear. I recently tried the new offering from Planet Waves (Picado)and have found them to be a much better choose in all respects. The only down side of the waves is that they require a little more afford to remove.

    they really work!

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity-Series Long-Term Earplugs (1 Pair):

I'm very happy with these earplugs! The smaller diameter fits very well in my ears and is a lot more comfortable than other earplugs I've used. I used them last night at band practice and I was really happy with their performance. They cut down the volume a lot, but not too much, and they really do preserve a good amount of high frequencies so you're not hearing just bass. They're much better than foam earplugs.

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity-Series Long-Term Earplugs (1 Pair):

If you are playing or going to a live show, you might want something a little stronger. These are great for practice sessions with your band, possibly studio. Additionally, they have directions for cleaning between uses and a caution for pulling them out to quickly, breaking the seal and damaging your ear drum.
These earplugs are very comfortable. However, they only offer up to "12" decibels of protection, not 20 like the description reads.

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity-Series Long-Term Earplugs (1 Pair):

Brought them to our first band rehursal, and was glad I had them! A hard hitting drummer and two guitarists who liked to crank up their combos made it loud, but the Hearos tamed it right down without making the sound muffled (like foam plugs do).

I was still able to hear across the frequencies, and able to sing. Recommend them strongly. They're cheap, and they'll save your hearing down the road.

      Ear Plugs Are A Must

      By Ben Jammin-RthNC

      from California

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity-Series Long-Term Earplugs (1 Pair):

These are great for the money, and the newer smaller shaft is less noticeable. I did long term damage to my hearing playing loud, especially standing next to the loudest drummer on the planet for year, and those 4X12 Marshalls cranked up. You get used to them quick, and when you take one out it's like a freight train hit you in the head. Repeated inner ear trauma leads to tinnitus, which is a permanent ringing in your ears accompanied by hearing loss, especially the high frequencies. Us older dogs have to turn up as the sounds begin to blend as the show goes on, so don't do it. Get these now. Take my word for it!

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity-Series Long-Term Earplugs (1 Pair):

Now that the cows have escaped, time to close the barn doors. I've played paying gigs since 1970.
All styles and plenty of LOUD rock and roll. My ears would be numb and I'd have half-hearing and it would wear off by noon the next day. I know I have hearing damage. My right ear feels like 50% these days.
But I couldn't wear the sponge type earplugs; they cut out all but low, woofy, bass freq's. I knew about these type back in 1991. But didn't buy them till now. The band can't be tight if you can't hear high-end ticks and transients. These reduce everything across the board from low to high. Glad I got some before I went completely deaf and/or needed hearing aids. Played a jam last Thursday and it didn't matter if the 2 guitars had a mini "volume war" and sneaked their vol. knobs by degrees.

Soft, easy to insert with new smaller tip. More comfortable than other types I have tried. Less sound reduction than I had hoped for, however. The benefit, I suppose, is that at least I wear them and get some protection.

Easy to insert and fairly comfortable , gives a good reduction in volume and allows a pretty large spectrum of sound through. Excellent value for the price, you can obviously spend a lot more money on earplugs.

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity-Series Long-Term Earplugs (1 Pair):

I use these for violin practice and they drop the volume to a more comfortable (and safer) level. They don't obscure the unintentional noises you need to hear, at least not very much. They fit my ears very nicely, but I am small. I've seen some negative reviews for these and am sure they needed the bigger size.
