The Hercules BS100B Compact Music Stand features a reinforced desk lip that creates strength and rigidity with minimum additional weight. The EZ Angle Roller has a special rubber grip that holds the desk at the perfect angle while also being instantly adjustable. Also features EZ Glide to make instant height adjustments by simply pulling up or down. The EZ Glide's inner mechanism automatically locks the stand at the desired height and the tightness is adjustable. Legs are constructed of durable rectangular tubing. Folds up for easy transport.

I have been looking for a music stand that was solid and portable with a gig friendly type case. My daughter is starting to do solo gigs and the more portable (but sturdy) the gear is the better it is for her to haul it around. This works very well on all levels.

I bought the optional travel case to go with it, and it's a good investment. The bag is solidly made and has a strap to toss it over your shoulder.
Sturdy stand that doesn't tip over easily. The fact that you can raise and lower it without having to turn a screw is a plus. I cut off the wire page holders so I could attach an accessory tray to the shelf for holding pencils and glasses. My only suggestion is that I wish it would go just a little lower (it goes plenty high). I'm short and I wear bifocals, so I need a stand that goes really low when I'm sitting in a chair.
I've owned my stand for over a year, packing it up a couple days a week to go somewhere, then setting it up at home again. It hasn't failed me yet in workmanship.
Yes, you can find a cheaper stand, but they're cheaper in quality too.

My favorite out of the 5 I have tried. It is the sturdiest yet. I love the ease with which the stand adjusts. Just push it up or down, back or forth and it stays. Only drawback, is that it is a little heavier than the others, but it's worth it to have a stand that will support my heavy music book.
My clarinet stand is excellent, too, and I now will look at Hercules products first before anything else.

Bought this stand a few weeks ago and am very satisfied. Its made of metal and sturdy. Its on the light side but will hold a full binder with music. It is very compact and folds easily. I recommend it for the price and value.

I bought this stand a year ago and have used it at home daily, as well as for gigs. It isn't as compact as "bag stands" and it's a bit difficult to (initially) set the friction mechanism to hold the height, it's been a great stand overall.I posted a full review of this stand, complete with pros and cons, at PartTimeMusician dot com if you're interested in knowing more. Musician's Friend is a great place to get it, and as always, shipping is very quick.

I bot this stand from Musicians Friend about 1 1/2 years ago. I deliver music services to people with special needs and this stand has been opened, setup and closed for at least a couple thousand times and it still works great and looks great! It is very sturdy and will not collapse on you like the little 'magic' silver fold up stands. Just a great product that has never let me down!
