Hercules Stands

Compact, attractive, strong, and practical.

The smooth, flowing lines of Hercules' istand™ for electric guitars allows it to fit inside the pouch pocket of almost any gig bag. No sharp edges ensures there will be no damage your precious instrument. A metal core and retracting rear legs provide exceptional stability, while the durable, injection-molded plastic exterior will withstand years of abuse. Sets up and tears down in seconds. 8" diameter and less than 2" height so it fits easily in virtually any gig bag pouch. Like all Hercules stands, the istand is safe for most nitrocellulose lacquer finish guitars*.

*Hercules tests for many types of nitro finish, however some guitar manufacturers change their nitro mixture often. Guitars should never be stored on a stand—always in the case.

Does the job but not great

Features:

This is a great idea. It's nice and compact, but it falls short of it's intended purpose.

Quality:

It seems sturdy enough. Haven't had any problems.

Value:

I don't think this stand is worth the price. The TravLite model is less expensive and is miles ahead of this one. This should be less expensive.

Overall:

I bought this stand because I wanted something that would fit in my  gig bag. While it's great from a portability standpoint, it's not the  most stable stand out there. You really gotta make sure that your guitar  is seated properly, especially if you have a guitar with an asymmetical  body like a strat.

It will not hold fender basses at all.

Also, the guitar leans very far back.

One really nice positive is that it functions superbly as a tilt back amp stand if you don't extend the arms that hold the guitar body. I've been using it as such and  ended up buying the TravLite model, which is 100 x more stable and still fits in my gig bag, albeit not as compact.

Although probably the most innovative compact and interesting looking guitar stand, after working with it for a year I have to give it a thumbs down. Fender Strats because of their contoured body will not sit in the stand as well as a guitar with an even lower back like a Les Paul so that one has to take a few more seconds to carefully turn the Strat if you want it to be optimally supported. Your guitar will also sit in the stand with a strong leaning-back angle which you may not like and also may present you with the uncomfortable feeling of neck vulnerability. The stand is easy to accidentally step on when its empty if your not keeping an eye out for it. If you do that, the back leg(s) will bend and you may have to disassemble it in order to bend the legs back properly like I had to. After doing that, a little while later someone else stepped on it and bend it again so that one of the legs no longer compacts. It's a cool stand but it's got too many design shortcomings for the road or anywhere in my opinion. I also feel it's overpriced. I would stay away from it. On the other hand it will fit in your guitar pouch - I'll sacrifice that luxury for more security!

I just got this stand for Fathers day. I think it is really a great stand for a gigging musician. The way it folds up into a disk is just a great idea. No more carrying around those long tube stands, and having them fall apart as you go. This thing will fit anywhere. And when the guitar is on the stand it really does look like it is just floating there, like a fine work of art. I mostly likley won't use this im my home, but on the road this will come along every time. Highly recommended!

I lead a praise and worship choir and need a very portable setup with the smallest footprint available. I own other Hercules stands and love them, but was a bit spectacle on just how sturdy such a small stand can be. Given that I trust the Hercules name, I took a chance and I am very glad that I did. This thing sets up in no time is surprisingly sturdy. I own both the electric and acoustic models and so far they have been great. And yes, they do fit nicely into a gig bag pouch and are a great conversation piece.

I want to start off by saying that the features on this thing are amazing, It's a major breakthrough in stands.  it takes a bit of force to pop the lid up, but everything slides and locks with authority.  I put my Ibanez RG3ex1 on this thing and it holds solid.  I would recommend this stand to anyone, especially due to its amazing portability, fitting right in the front pouch of my gigbag.  So small.  one small sidenote:  do not buy this for your bass.  I tried putting my six string monster bass on it, and it acted like a Weeble. It wobbled, but I took the bass off before it could fall down. this is a great solid stand for electric guitar, but due to it's footprint and low support height, your bass will be in peril. I hope Hercules has plans for a bass version in the future.
