Comments about Hercules Stands Wallmount Guitar Hanger:
I used this for a V guitar that won't sit well on my regular stands. I think it is a solid mount as long as you use the right mounting hardware. I was able to put mine into a wall stud where I wanted it, but I wouldn't trust a heavy guitar in drywall for example.
Comments about Hercules Stands Wallmount Guitar Hanger:
Having your guitar(s) up on the wall is great-- they're easy to grab, yet out of the way. And fun to look at.
Only downsides: they get dustier than if you left them in the case, and they're more visible to thieves.
These hooks offer the security of one of those rubber-band thingies that you have to swing across and attach to prevent the guitar from coming up out of the hook, but without that step. Rockin'.
These mount securely (screw into a hardwood board mounted to the studs, or mount this hanger directly to the studs with long screws!) and hold the guitar nicely, securing it without damaging it. I love the way the fingers automatically rotate up into position to retain the guitar as you rest its weight on the side pads. Even grabs the narrow Telecaster headstock nicely.
No flaws that I can see.
A little pricey, but well worth it.
Comments about Hercules Stands Wallmount Guitar Hanger:
This is a one of the better quality hangers. Looks cool too. The only problem I have with it is that two of them that I own are now getting stuck in the closed position which is annoying as you lift the guitar on and off the hanger making you have to use your other hand to open it up everytime. I bought the Off The Wall brand and they are absolutely the best made, solid and sturdy ones out there. I have 20 guitars hanging on my walls so believe me I've tried them all. These are good, but Off The Wall are better. Buy both and you will see what I mean!!!
Comments about Hercules Stands Wallmount Guitar Hanger:
I purchased six of these hangers several months ago and I'm really glad I did. Not only do they save me the hassle of dealing with guitar cases while at home, but space as I am able to store the guitar cases I use less frequency. I used corkscrew style anchors to secure the hangers to the wall, as the factory hardware is cheesie. I could probably hang my children from them at this point & they'd hold, haha. When I first bought the hangers I was concerned about padding the wall so the guitar bodies wouldn't rub against the wall, but the distance between my guitars and the wall is more than adequate, so no worries! (I have a jumbo accoustic, hollowbody and electric on the hangars, just to give ya'll an idea). As an added bonus my guitars stay in tune a better as they're always at the ambient temperature of my house (compared to using a hardshell case). I'm planning on buying a bunch more to replace my guitar tree & save additional space at home. These hangers are pricey, but worth it in the longrun. My guitars look really clean hanging on the wall. I do wonder if anyone can notice any difference between the metal and wooden bases available for these hangers...
Comments about Hercules Stands Wallmount Guitar Hanger:
This product is excellent--it is hands down one of the best guitar hangers I have ever used. However, the wall I was going to attach it to only had a thin 2x4 stud behind it; thus with the triangular pattern of where the screws would have gone in, only one screw would have been secure. So, I returned it for the wood-mount Hercules hanger (with two vertical screws) just to make sure my Precision bass would be safe. Moral of the story--make sure the specific Hercules hook and wall you're attaching it to is a good match!
Comments about Hercules Stands Wallmount Guitar Hanger:
Well built & solid. The 'clutch' feature is great and works well. I agree with other posts, go and buy better hardware than what is included - you'll thank yourself later and have more peace of mind. I am currently using 4 of these in my recording studio to keep my guitars within reach and completely trust my most valuable instruments in their grasp.
Comments about Hercules Stands Wallmount Guitar Hanger:
I bought these after reviewing the various hangers on the market. These work great. I mounted them to a routed edged 1x4, which I screwed into the wall studs (4 at 16" on center). The included hardware is fine when using this method, but you could use longer screws if you have any concerns. I am not sure I trust hanging them onto drywall only. I hung 3 Strats and 1 Tele and they are very secure. All in all, a nice product for hanging and protecting your guitars.
Comments about Hercules Stands Wallmount Guitar Hanger:
Finally picked up 3 and got em' installed. They work great, just as advertised and reviewed. And as stated previously the supplied hardware is inadequate for most if not all installations. Simply too small for comfort. I had 3 guitars to hang with only one stud available and it was too deep in the wall to reach with any screw so I ended up, with some hesitation, using some 1 1/4" Dry wall screws with plastic anchors. Worked out great, even for the heavy Epiphone Electric. If installed correctly, they wont budge. Easy install and I couldn't be happier with the operation of the locking arms. Very user friendly. Highly recommended with updated hardware. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
Comments about Hercules Stands Wallmount Guitar Hanger:
I have had 5 guitars, including a heavy Les Paul Standard hanging on these hangers for over a year. The guards that automatically flip up to make sure your guitar will not be released from the hanger unless it is lifted out make this the safest hanger I have seen. I just bought a new Gibson Custom for which I am buying another one of these hangers today. I must emphasize that while these are great hangers, they must be installed securely. I would not use drywall hardware of any kind. I have my hangers mounted on a 3/4 " hardwood board that on the wall is 6" tall and 8' wide. This board is screwed through the drywall into each of the wall studs using 2 3 1/2" screws per stud. This provides a very strong mounting for the hangers. I would not take a chance for even one guitar to be mounted without a hardwood mount screwed to at least 2 studs. I covered the mounting and section of wall below it with 2" pyramid acoustic foam for a soft (and attractive) wall surface should a guitar happen to hit the wall when putting it in, or taking it from, the hanger.
Comments about Hercules Stands Wallmount Guitar Hanger:
These hangers work great!! DO NOT use the screws provided!!! Go to the hardware store and get the drywall screws with anchors if you are mounting in drywall. Get longer stronger screws if mounting into wood. And if you are mounting into concrete you're probably not all there but try some tapcon. There's a reason so many music stores use them. It's so you don't knock down and break their guitars. Don't you want the same protection for your babies? And if you are like me it keeps them out of the kids hands!! Properly mounted I can hang my 30lb 3 year old from them.
