Live shows just got a little easier

Comments about Hipshot BT2 Bass Ext Key 1966 and Up Fender:

Excellent product for those who alternate between standard and drop tunings. I frequently alternate between standard and drop D, and onstage this requires a second bass or quick break while I tweak my tuner. No more - the Hipshot delivers, and I'm impressed. High quality, this is no cheapie replacement but a drop in replacement. Easy to install, easy to set up. The only negative comment I can make about it is that the peg is ever so slightly shorter than the stock Fender keys, but if I didn't tell you, you probably wouldn't notice. Now my favorite bass is also my most versatile.

Comments about Hipshot BT2 Bass Ext Key 1966 and Up Fender:

I am the proud owner of a 1986 Japanese Fender Precision Bass
Initially, my problem was getting the right key. Even though my Fender was made in Japan, the Japanese key, (BT-10) if I recall correctly, was not the correct one for my bass. I contacted HIPSHOT after my error of ordering the wrong one and after emailing some pics to them, they quickly notified me that I needed the BT-2.
Once received, the key was a snap to put on. It was an enjoyable experience to be able to work on my bass and be able to add hardware to it without worry of not being able to, or the fear of having to take it to someone to professionally install it and dish out money.
HIPSHOT EVEN HAS A STEP BY STEP VIDEO ON HOW TO INSTALL IT! Once installed, tuning was simple and made my bass more efficient with Drop D tunings.
I highly recommend it to anyone who plays in drop tunings. This key works exactly as advertised. It Drops the tuning, and stays in tune!
    Great addition to any bass!

I was worried about it staying in tune. It works perfectly. A simple flick of a switch and your bass has a low D.

Comments about Hipshot BT2 Bass Ext Key 1966 and Up Fender:

Any one who plays live and plays multiple songs in drop D, this is a must have. Its really simple to instal and the initial set up and tuning only takes a few minutes. I dont regret buying this at all, actually wish I would have gotten it sooner. Also Ive read claims that it messes with the tone of the E string and that it goes out of tune faster than normal. I have not found these statments to be true at all. I slap and basicaly abuse my E string and it holds up just fine. I never have to retune during a set. Basically if you are on the fence about this... get it lol

this is a great unit for live apps and this things is built likea brick other then that it's useless because its makes tuning ur bass a huge pain along with makes ur bass go out tune faster ,i believe.
