It's a great all in one solution for protection and humidification. This can be done with a regular case, but it's not any cheaper and doesn't do as good a job keeping constant humidity. I used to put a sponge in my case and I have used a "dampit" but they always dried out too fast. This solution works for weeks at a time or longer.
Humidity level was always an issue with my classical guitar. What a convenient way to keep the humidity level where it needs to be. A must have for anyone who owns a classical guitar!
I bought this case a few months ago to protect my beautiful Jose Ramirez cutaway and have been pleased that it actually works -- at least in controlling humidity. (Haven't tested in it controlling temperature, but I'd never leave the guitar in extreme heat or cold anyway.) Comes with the 2 humidifier "pods" that you soak with the "activation solution" (distilled water?). I've tested it with a hygrometer and sure enough, nice 50% humidity in the case all the time. The hard plastic case itself isn't the stongest or best-built thing -- mine doesn't quite line up when you go to close it. It's not airline quality. The interior is just ok and my guitar doesn't exactly fit snugly. But it works for what I got it for -- maintaining proper humidity.
