The shell on this case is attractive and strong, though if you're a touring musician and your case gets beat up a lot, you might want to consider a case with a thicker, harder shell. For the average person playing at home or traveling around locally it's more than adequate and plenty strong. The inside of the case is both beautiful and luxurious. The bass fits in to the molded space firmly and there's also space for a cord, tuner, etc....

The latches are a bit difficult. Anyone can use standard latches obviously. What I mean by difficult is that when you flip the loop over the top and go to push the lever down, unless the loop is over the seating hole, it gets stuck and you have to pull the loop part out into position before you can push the lever down. Most latches of this type will just slide into position with little trouble. These don't. You have to physically make sure they're in the right position, or close to it before closing. That's my only real complaint, and it's a minor one at best.

I bought this case for my SR 400 QM, and after about like 10 shows, the case was in pretty bad shape. The legs fall off pretty easily and I'm starting to notice some cracks in the outer shell. And when I close it, the metal lining does not line up very well at all.Other than that the inside is pretty decent, the bass fits in very well and has enough room to fit your strap, tuner or cables.I would say its very good for someone who does not need to haul it around in a van with a ton of other equipment.

Solid case

Comments about Ibanez MB100C Bass Case:

I have an Ibanez SRX model and needed a case. I was very nervous with all the negative comments this case has provided. What I got, though, was a pretty nice case. There is enough room for a few things, the lining is pretty nice, and the thing seems solid enough. I think it's kinda pricey and so can't give it a 5/5. But if you're worried about people saying "a crappy gig bag would be better than this", don't worry, it's a decent case.

Great Buy

Comments about Ibanez MB100C Bass Case:

If it was just a little cheaper and more space inside for stuff it would be a 10 for sure but if you want the best fit for your bass then this is the only option and I highly recommend it!
I have to take the strap off of my bass, and there's enough room for the strap, a small cord, picks, and 9v batteries.
It's a tight squeeze but its worth it keeping your expensive guitar safe!
Its a tight case with no overlapping on the edges. The interior is a super plush burgundy which looks great with my Ibanez SR-500.
It's a little pricier than I would like but it's customized for the specific type of guitar so what do you expect? And theres not a lot of storage space but other than that its a great deal!

BAD design!

Comments about Ibanez MB100C Bass Case:

I got a MB100C case for my Ibanez SRX700. It is fitted to the SR models. Even without the bass in it the case lid doesn't close unless you press down firmly on the lid. The valance doesn't seal leaving gaps that let dust, moisture, etc to enter the case. The plush lining isn't plush and I don't think it is even fabric as it appears to be some sort of sprayed on synthetic fuzzy plastic. Short of storage. My 4 inch bass strap won't fit in the skinny strap slot. The only other storage area is only large enough for one 9-volt battery. There is not room for spare strings. Ibanez makes some good axes but this case is one of the poorest designs I've ever seen in a "premium" case.

Comments about Ibanez MB100C Bass Case:

I've had this case for my SR700 for 5 years now and it's still in great shape. Not sure what others are talking about in their reviews. Treat it right and it'll treat you right. And it fits by bass (with the strap on it) perfectly. When I purchase my new SR505T, I will be ordering one of these cases for it.

      Not their best work

Comments about Ibanez MB100C Bass Case:

I got this case like 2 months ago when I got me a SR505. First thing I noticed was that it really has no room for anything other then the bass itself. Also, no compartments so if you play with a pick then expect the pick to be somewhere, possible everywhere or anywhere in the case when you open it up. You really cant fit a strap in it to comfortably. Within a week I noticed a small little hole from where the plastic was "supposed" to be attached to the metal lining. Now its a pretty big hole where their is a gap in the case. Also, for some reason I am noticing when I try to close it the case does not line up right. I have to pull it and also slam it down to lock it.

Metal feet broke through the bottom

      By JWS in Paso

      from Paso Robles,Ca

Comments about Ibanez MB100C Bass Case:

After about 6 months of playing almost every weekend and chucking the case in with the other equipment, I started noticing the case listing to the side when I set it down. One of the feet had broken through the case inward causing it to lean over. Now after several years the other 3 have poked through as well, and now it sits straight again with a tendency to fall over if you breath on it. Otherwise an OK case if you don't abuse it to much.

Comments about Ibanez MB100C Bass Case:

bought the mb100c for my srx470 about 2 months ago. haven't had any REAL problems with it yet other than, yup you guessed it, the valance. it started to lift towards the ends of the case. solution: connect outer latches first! no problems since. not exactly the most spacious case BUT it does its job well. I'd say good buy, and buy a book bag.

Comments about Ibanez MB100C Bass Case:

I own several of these Ibanez molded cases and I've been extremely happy with them. The interior is not only protective, but really beautiful, and there's plenty of space for cords, tuners, straps or whatever. My only small complaint about the cases is that the hook part of the latches doesn't just slide into place when you press the lever down on them. They'll get caught if you have them back to far on the upper part, so you have to adjust its position before you can close it. It's a very minor issue on an otherwise awesome case, but it is one worth noting because it can get a little irritating.
