I only purchased one PRX618S-XLF to begin with. First the issue was price and second the issue was my uncertainty that the sub would be the right choice...The first sub proved to be such a success, I plan on buying a second before the end of the year...and I will definately buy another JBL SS4-BK. I read the review by Mr HipHop and took his advice. You should too...IF you own a JBL subwoofer that accepts the screw base of the SS4-BK, get one of these speaker poles. You will be equally impressed. Come on...if you are going to spend the money for a sub and for a main, the least you can do is spend a little more for a quality speaker pole to use with your quality speakers.
Who knew that you could improve on a speaker pole? The "pins" used to help support the weight and that are held onto the pole with a chain or tie of some type usually get lost during the wear and tear of transport. This pole has a spring loaded "pin" to hold the extension so you can then use the "friction knob" to help take some stress off the pin. WELL THOUGHT OUT!
The screw mount on the top of the PRX618S-XLF precludes using a "standard" pole mount, but after seeing this one, who wants one of the old style anyway. The pole and extension section feel solid. You do not worry about a flimsy piece of aluminum tubing collapsing with your investment.
The craftsmanship of construction caught my attention right away. Everything was well designed and put together well.
Initially, I was not happy with the price until I received the pole and realized how far beyond a standard speaker pole this really is. It is part of your speaker SYSTEM...designed to work together and built with the quality I expect from JBL. Mine came with a zippered carrying bag...very nice accessory.

Solid Speaker Pole made exclusively for the 718 subs. It's made of Steel very solid it screws directly into the fitting on top of sub,It does not wobble when you place your speaker on top of it,also the height of the pole can be adjusted. Other speaker stand manufacture's need to take notes. If you got these subs and you need the pole, Don't cheat yourself they are worth it. I have 4.
