OVERVIEW

Vintage in character with expanded fidelity.

The Danny Gatton T-Style Tele Pickup Set features dual blade T-Style pickups. It was inspired by Danny Gatton, one of best Tele guitarists to have lived. He wanted a new model of high-end replacement pickups as opposed to those that were merely variations on established designs or basic repair parts.

Originally designed for Danny (and with Danny testing every step of the way) they have become the first choice of professional Tele players worldwide. The tone of these pickups can be described as absolutely vintage in character, but with greatly expanded fidelity. The lows, mids, and highs are all equal in strength, eliminating the thin, or "tinny" sound that is often a problem with Tele-styled guitars.

The T-Neck is remarkable in that it can be adjusted so that its output is actually equal to the T-Bridge, thus solving the age-old Tele player's complaint: huge output differences between the bridge and neck pickups. While these pickups can be adjusted to greatly exceed the output level of stock pickups, the authentic Tele twang and snap is maintained, and any kind of noise, be it hum, hiss, or squeal, is completely eliminated.

The T-Bridge features our unique "staggered-blade" design, common to all Joe Barden single coil sized bridge pickups for Strats and Teles. The staggered dual blade ensures balanced response on the outer strings. These pickups are the best imaginable for the instrument that originally defined the solid body electric guitar.

T-Style pickups fit standard Tele body routs and require no modifications to the instrument. They utilize 4 conductor shielded cable to allow for any possible wiring combination and are supplied with wiring diagrams and mounting hardware to facilitate installation.

Always wanted to try these but the price was a limiting factor. Got these in a trade, my 2008 American Strat for an American Designer Series Tele that had these installed by the previous owner. These pick-ups are indeed "different"....They are touted as 'Hi-Fi' and that is accurate. Hard to explain, but the highs are clear, not ice-picky, the mids are clear as well, and the lows are tight without being boomy. I have read reviews saying they sound 'too perfect'..I can understand that in a way. I have read that guitar techs say they have removed as many as they have installed. I personally have found most reviews very positive, plus the fact they are hard to find used. My opinion is they are the best sounding pick-ups I have heard and I have been on a tone quest for 40 years. So much so I now have the S Deluxe set AND a set of the HB two tones. Yes they are expensive but if I consider how much I have spent on pick-ups over the years these become a bargin. It's kind of sad in a way as my tone quest is over but now I won't be spending any more cash on replacement pick-up. Just be sure to follow the wiring diagrams to get a good sound. Please note these pickups can get trebly so get used to using the tone control. Try them out first if you can, look up reviews, video's and determine for yourself. I give these a 5 for value, kind of like why divorces cost so much, because they are worth it!

Don't buy Joe Barden pickups when you can buy the real thing

Bill Lawrence has been making these pickups for 30+ years and they are 1./Much better quality 2./Not as noisy 3./Much cheaper than these ridiculous rip offs.

Comments about Joe Barden Pickups (Barden) Danny Gatton T-Style Tele Pickup Set:

I installed these in a Hwy One Tele over two years ago. They're never coming out. These are the ones for me. Be prepared to hear your guitar and your playing in a very different way. There will be no place to hide. Every nuance (good or bad) in your chops will be on display. A breeze to install, they are also dead silent. These pickups also enhance the efficiency of your tone control like no others. I can understand why these are not everyone's cup of tea. They are merciless. You'll either love em or hate em. For my money, these are the ultimate tele pickups.

Comments about Joe Barden Pickups (Barden) Danny Gatton T-Style Tele Pickup Set:

Can't explain the tones I get from these pick-ups. I had to use a special combination for my application.
The choices are near endless when installed in a Fender Telecaser Modern Player Plus. I have a neck tele, middle strat, bridge humbucker with split coil pick-ups. Turned a low end guitar into a high end pro player. These pick-ups are very sensitive and very articulate. Be sure to change the pots. It will give you more tone and volume control. I would recommed these pick-ups. Expensive but well worth it. Great/excellent tone or sound is priceless. Thanks MF for offering these great pick-ups by Joe Barden. They are so versatile.

Comments about Joe Barden Pickups (Barden) Danny Gatton T-Style Tele Pickup Set:

Best tele pups you will ever buy. Worth every penny. Extraordinarily warm and full, tone. Neck pup gives you the twang you need for a tele but it doesn't sound cheap and thin. Think, chocolate twang. Bridge pup is rich, clear and well balanced. Iit gives me the growl I need when I dig in. Installed them in about 20 minutes--zero problems. Buy these. Seriously, you will not regret it.

Comments about Joe Barden Pickups (Barden) Danny Gatton T-Style Tele Pickup Set:

I've been a professional musician for over 20 years now (wow I"m getting old) and these are the best Tele pickups you can buy. The problem with most "replacement" pickups is that they color the sound so much it doesn't sound like a Tele, or a Strat, or a Les Paul anymore. These pickups keep that Tele Twang, Punch and Glassy sound but it has higher highs, lower lows, and really punchy mids. They simply make it sound like a better version of itself. I'll never have anything else in a tele but JB's from now on. WOW! WOW! WOW! This is one purchase you won't regret.

I play 50's blues and rock with an original 1961 Fender Super. I use a booster pedal to get more crunch at low volumes. I need just a little distortion and these pickups sound amazing. At first the treble boost seems way too much but in the context of a band, it's perfect. It allows you tur turn down the volume without losing high end. I've never been able to dow that in my nearly 40 years of playing. They are also great for rock n roll, country, metal, you name it. I've played several gigs with them so far and I enjoy the sound so much I actually forget the song I'm playing becauze I'm so utterly flabbergasted and the incredible tone. HIGHLY HIGHLY *HIGHLY* recomended!
