Joe Barden Pickups

Particularly suited for today's modern country and rock styles at the bridge with vintage character with expanded fidelity at the neck.

The Joe Barden Modern T-Style Tele Pickup Set consists of a Modern T-Bridge pickup and a Gatton T-Neck pickup. This is a great pickup combination for adding volume, tone, and bite to your favorite Tele.

Modern T Bridge Pickup

The Modern T bridge offers a darker more aggressive tone and feel. It was originally designed for a leading artist who wanted more beef in the bridge position of his Tele. The Modern T Set retains its pure Tele vibe, but with a bit more attitude for today's Modern Country and Rock styles.

The Modern T-Style is a bridge pickup variant only. The Gatton T-Style neck pickup remains unchanged and performs flawlessly with the new Modern T-Style winding in the bridge position.

Gatton T-Neck Pickup

The Danny Gatton T-Neck Tele Pickup is a dual blade T-Style pickup. It was inspired by Danny Gatton, one of best tele guitarists to have lived. Danny wanted a new model of high-end replacement pickups as opposed to those that were merely variations on established designs or basic repair parts.

Originally designed for Danny (and with Danny testing every step of the way) they have become the first choice of professional Tele players worldwide. The tone of these pickups can be described as absolutely vintage in character, but with greatly expanded fidelity. The lows, mids, and highs are all equal in strength, eliminating the thin, or "tinny" sound that is often a problem with Tele-styled guitars.

The T-Neck is remarkable in that it can be adjusted so that its output is actually equal to the T-Bridge, thus solving the age-old Tele player's complaint: huge output differences between the bridge and neck pickups. While these pickups can be adjusted to greatly exceed the output level of stock pickups, the authentic Tele twang and snap is maintained, and any kind of noise, be it hum, hiss, or squeal, is completely eliminated.

T-Style pickups fit standard Tele body routs and require no modifications to the instrument. They utilize 4 conductor shielded cable to allow for any possible wiring combination and are supplied with wiring diagrams and mounting hardware to facilitate installation.

Both pickups mate well together and can be balanced thru height adjustment to each player's preference. Like all JBE pickups there is no hum or noise and the pickups fit into any standard Tele body rout.

Comments about Joe Barden Pickups Modern T-Style Tele Pickup Set:

I replaced the pickups in an American Nashville Tele B-Bender converting the three pickups to just two (so glad that middle pickup in gone and out of the way). I also wired them like a Fender Noiseless S1 Switching Tele I've got. I'm thoroughly enjoying my "New" guitar ... can hardly put it down!

Thanks to Tyler for the Online Chat and Great Price!!! Thank You!

      Danny would have LOVED these!

Comments about Joe Barden Pickups Modern T-Style Tele Pickup Set:

I've been playing for 40 years and I have to admit my favorite player has always been Danny Gatton. I never have seen anyone before or since that knew a guitar inside out the way he did. Joe worked with Danny to design the originals and as perfect as those are, these add just a bit more bite for blues players and Southern Rock players that like a little more snarl. The musical quality of these pickups is unbelieveable and unmatched to any others I have seeen or tried including the Lollar's and Fraulin's which are fantastic in their own right. For the all around Tele player you have the clarity and warmth for Jazz to the snarl and grind of dirty blues. I installed these in my 69 Thinline with a 4-way switch, a Bourns 250K sealed volume pot, a Fender 250k "No Load Pot" for the tone control and a massive "Orange Drop" Cap. The range in tones is simply miraculous. I am saving up now to put a set in my favorite Strat. I wish Danny was still with us to see what he could do with these.

      Joe he would be Pleased!!!
These have all the clarity, brillance and warmth of the originals with just a little more Bite. If you have never played through Joe Barden's pickups you are in for a treat. They are simply more musical than anything else you will find. They are more Brillant, Clear and warm than any other pickup available.
Top Quality all the way. Very well made and solid through out. I have Never had an issue with them and the Folks at Joe Barden give TOP NOTCH customer service!
Expensive but worth the investment if you truly want the best for your Tele! The best addition to your Telecaster you can make. For those that say they didn't like them it's usually because they don't like the fact that every mistake they make comes out loud and clear. These definetly seperate the true Tele player from the wanna be or wish they were guys.
