I shopped around for a long time to find strings that I liked to listen to and liked to play, and that complimeted my D-28. These are absolutely the best that I have found. I play hard and fast and have never, ever, in hundreds of hours of live playing, broken one of these strings. One problem with them though is that they don't last very long. About halfway through a 5 hour gig I start to feel like they are losing their ease of playing, and a few days after a gig they are corroded to the point of being basically unplayable. I love these strings and will always use them no matter what, but if you play a lot, you need to be prepared to change strings every time you play out, I've tried to stretch it to two with terrible results.

Incredible!

Comments about John Pearse 700M Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I had the opportunity to meet John Pearse at a Guitar Show in Nashville back in the 90's right after acquiring a Larravee 12 string. He very kindly handed me a set of his light guage 12 strings and said "try these on that guitar". I've used them exclusively on ever acoustic i have ever since then. The tone on my martin, larravee and takemine are the best i've found. I've played professionally for many years (30,,,,,oh man,,,) and find his strings to play evenly from rich low tones to crisp high tones. I change my strings every three gigs (bars, taverns, concert halls, etc.,)and have never been disappointed.

I have this set on my 1936 steel-bodied guitar. I really like them. Tone is great.

Comments about John Pearse 700M Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I got my Martin HD-35, brand new, in Jan. 2016 after months of research and playing several guitars. I was excited to be finally part of the Martin family and own my own dreadnought. I knew the one thing that I wanted to address was the dready low-end that can get in the way of a balanced sound. The stock Martin MSP7200 SP Lifespan Medium strings were good but lacked the brightness I wanted for my HD-35 (more specifically for finger/flat-picking). After trying out 5-10 sets of different medium-gauge strings, I came across these JP PB 700Ms. I had never heard of John Pearse strings prior to my search and really didn't know what to expect. I was impressed when I was able to slap these bad boys on. There was more than enough warmth to confirm I was playing a dread. Yet, there was enough brightness to make it sound I was playing a 00/000 Martin. I was instantly hooked. I've been playing with the 700Ms since late Winter '16 and I would be more than content to make them the only strings I use! Well, at least for the time being!

I live in a rural area now and was having a difficult time finding these strings. I have been using John Pearce since he started making them. I have not been playing for about 5 years and now I am back and playing with John Pearce again,

Bought these for a Martin D-28. They are great strings so far, but not worth the extra clams. I will stick with diaddario EJ17's.

Normal uncoated string life but great sound, I keep coming back to these comfortable strings, they help me be heard in acoustic jam settings yet can be subtle and soulful.

These strings have the best tone I've heard yet on my D-28. I've tried other brands and so far none compare.
