Comments about Kaces KDL-100 LP Porter with Wheels:
At $**.**, these Kaces lp bags appear to be a dream come true. However, after trying these bags first hand, I urge all of you to save your money for something much more durable. Looking at the bag's exterior, everything looks great: heavy duty nylon construction, lots of pockets, strong handles. However, it isn't until you open the bag that some major construction flaws come to light. First off, the main compartment is about 13.5 inches wide, leaving almost an inch of space on each side of a 12" record. I found that my records would constantly move inside the bag during transport, and this was with 80 lps inside. Speaking of capacity, there's no way 100 lps will fit in this bag. The most I could fit was 90, which left no room to shuffle through the records. Kaces probably should have used the extra 1.5 inches of space to increase the length rather than the width. I tried putting the records in sideways, but to no avail. The biggest flaw with the bag has to be the "support" on the bottom of the bag. To keep your records level, the bag employs the use of a wooden panel, which upon further inspection, turned out to be a piece of particle board no more than 1/8 inch thick. This thing was literally a piece of cardboard. Within one day of purchase, the wooden panel in my bag bent in half, turning my straight line of records into rolling hills.Needless to say, I returned these bags the day after I bought them. I have since purchased the Odyssey 100 lp rolling cases, which completely destroy these bags in all aspects. Sure, they cost significantly more, but they also provide record protection that is essentially priceless.I really can't recommend these bags, even at their low price point. Think of it this way: you wouldn't protect an autographed Babe Ruth baseball with a plastic bag, so why protect your invaluable vinyl with a converted luggage case?
