Comments about K&M Tripod Microphone Stand with Boom Arm:

Very well made. I use them in live sound venues where they get set up and removed a lot. I stow them in a stand bag and some of the other models I have used are a pain to place in the bag as the tripod feet won't stay closed, but these are solid and well crafted and the feet stay closed when stowing. Smooth feel to boom clutch also and stays in position. Excellent product, especially for the price.

Comments about K&M Tripod Microphone Stand with Boom Arm:

I use this solely in my home studio. Not a lot of moving around to do other than positioning it, so I can't comment on its durability to that extent. Bang for the buck.

Maybe not "pro" level quality, but for a weekend warrior this is a good adjustable stand.

Get the bag, too. I carry two of these together. Fast easy, no flop set up. Small knobs for tightening - took a moment to get used to, and wires don't catch on the stand on pull it over like with the onstage variety.

Comments about K&M Tripod Microphone Stand with Boom Arm:

Bought three of these for my drum kit to replace three cheaper On-Stage brand stands that are starting to fail in several aspects after just a couple years. Right out of the box you can tell that these are well-made stands! The machine work on the threads and fittings is precise and clean. The clutch to raise the stand up and down is also nice feeling and releases it's grip with less than a complete turn of the handle. The cheaper on-stage brand stands take several turns and I would end up pinching myself when they'd come, unexpectedly, crashing down. Another major difference are the threads on the locknuts. I had trouble with the on-stage locknuts stripping out and getting cross-threaded all the time eventually becoming useless in holding the mic clip tight. The threads and nuts on these stands look to be much better! Where the legs attach to the base is also much improved. The legs stay in place when you fold them up, the cheaper ones flop around and make it more difficult to store and set-up. Another major difference I see is the screw to hold the boom arm in place is in the metal center piece of the boom mount rather than in the plastic end-caps. The on-stage ones are in the plastic ends and will come un-glued from the boom mount leaving your boom-arm flopping/sliding around. These have a much better design every where you look and are well worth the price just on looks/feel alone. I have not used these yet so can't comment on the durability, but based on how they look and feel, I'm confident they will last for many years.

Comments about K&M Tripod Microphone Stand with Boom Arm:

Nice, solid stand. I had bought several cheap stands a couple of years back, figuring they were kind of disposable- and they were, I finally got tired of having failed stands - especially the set screw for the boom- and little better design on that would have made the cheap ones OK - when I got to the gig, so I decided to spend extra money more on this. Solid, stable, still reasonably priced, and I don't expect to have it fail suddenly.
