Leave your amp plugged in while you tune up.

The GA-40 Electronic Guitar and Bass Tuner is equipped with an output jack so you can leave your amp plugged in. An ultra-large LCD screen provides excellent visibility. Adjustable calibration range (410-480Hz). Tunes 6 & 7 string guitars and 4-, 5-, and 6-string basses. Pure major/minor 3rd pitch indication marks. Includes reference tone, microphone, speaker, folding stand, auto power off, memory backup, and batteries. This chromatic auto-tuner works with all types of instruments.

Dedicated guitar and bass tuner with large LCD for easy viewing
The GA-40 is a dedicated, easy-to-operate guitar/bass tuner with automatic pitch detection. In Guitar mode it supports seven-string guitars (7B through 1E), and in Bass mode it supports six-string basses (Low-B and Hi-C). With the precision you expect from KORG, the GA-40 indicates the pitch quickly and accurately. The LCD needle-style display provides both the accuracy of an LCD as well as the easy viewing of a needle indicator, and the display has been enlarged for even better visibility. You can also use the built-in high-sensitivity microphone to tune an acoustic guitar.

Sound Out function produces a reference tone from the internal speaker
In addition to letting you tune visually using the meter, the GA-40 provides a Sound Out function that plays a reference tone through the internal speaker, letting you tune by ear. Each time you press the Sound switch, the tone will cycle through 7B_6E_5A_4D_3G_2B_1E in Guitar mode, or through LB_4E_3A_2D_1G_HC in Bass mode.

Quinta Flat Tuning mode
To support the dropped tunings used in heavy metal styles to produce a powerfully massive sound, the GA-40 provides a Quinta Flat Tuning mode that lets you detect dropped tunings of one through five semitones. This lets you tune super-long scale guitars that extend below the pitch range of conventional guitars.

Conveniently thin and compact
The GA-40 gives you convenient guitar and bass tuning functionality in a pocket-sized package, making it easy to tune whether you're on stage or in the studio. An output jack (bypass) has been added, making it easy to check the tuning even while you're performing.

The stand on the back lets you place the tuner on any surface.

Auto Power Off function
The Auto Power Off function automatically turns the power off after the unit has been left on for twenty minutes, preventing the batteries from running down needlessly.

Approximately 85 hours of continuous use
The GA-40 is designed for long battery life, and allows approximately 85 hours of continuous use (continuous A4 input, Meter mode, zinc-carbon batteries).

*Even if a sound is within the detectable pitch range, detection may be unsuccessful for instrumental sounds that contain a large number of overtones or that decay rapidly.

Korg tuners and metronomes purchased from a Korg USA authorized dealer now have a three year warranty.

Features:

I have been using one of the older Korg tuners for over 20 years. My cousin needed a turner, so I gave mine to him and purchased this one for myself. The older on cost over $70.00 when I bought it and I was very happy with it. But the new has it really out classed at an increditably low price. All you have to do with this one is turn it on. It figures out for itself which string you are tuning. Great tuner.

I just got this tuner yesterday and it is an excellent. I got it for my new bass, since I was using my church's tuner and I wanted my own. First, the physical aspect: It is really cool looking, a rectangular shape, black, its rounded from the back, it even has a little paddle on the back that u can flip out so it will stand up on a flat surface angled at you, another great thing is that it has a battery door outside; therefore, you don?t have to open up the tuner and place the batteries inside (it uses 2 AAA batteries, they are included) like in most tuners. Overall, it is a fancy looking tuner that looks great. Now, the Input/Output: Obviously it has the input for an instrument cable; it?s all good with that. It also has an output for an instrument cable to go from your tuner to the amp. I tested the output function and if you plug it to your amp, it will play the sounds from your tuner out of your amp and also the tuner speakers; you can leave your tuner plugged in and output it to your amp and play your bass/guitar while checking the tuning, the tuner does not lower the quality of the sound from the bass/guitar (unless u are using bad cables, yes, you need 2 cables in order to do this). Overall, I liked this function, it works perfectly, and even though I don?t think ill use this function so much, I still like it and it doesn?t bother me with having it, it?s a plus. I like the screen on the tuner; it?s a large display, really clear and easy to see. It has the 3 lights, they are bright and work perfectly fine, reds for too flat and to sharp, the middle one is green for the perfect tone. Now the performance and efficiency, the tuning is really precise, it picks up all the tones of my bass and also on my guitar, when they are plugged in and also when they are not, though the microphone, both (yes, even the bass) the microphone is really responsive and real accurate. For the bass, it tunes the 4 strings, the 5th string (LowB), and the 6th string. For the guitar it picks the 6 strings and the 7th (LowB). It is a perfect tuner, works perfect for me, and the price is sweet. I would recommend it. I might buy another one to carry on my guitar gig bag as well as on my base case.
