These were on special sale Black Friday, so I ordered two, not knowing what to expect. It is a bare bones guitar tuner that tunes the 6 standard guitar pitches, referenced to 440 Hz, no alternate or chromatic tuning. The only control is a tiny power button recessed in the back. Have to hold the device between thumb & finger and squeeze. Auto powers off after 3 minutes. A battery is included.

The interesting feature is that it attaches to the guitar with a magnet built into the case. There is also a tiny hole in the case, so you can optionally tie the tuner to the guitar, if you can get a string through the hole. The tuner will attach to any piece of ferrous metal like the tuning posts, strap button, or metal bridge plate. I was surprised to find the the tuning buttons on most of my guitars are of a non-ferrous material. The magnet is strong enough to hold fairly well, but I wouldn't try transporting the guitar with the tuner on it, unless tied with a string. But the tuner is small and light, so easy enough to carry in a pocket. The flip side of the small size is that if you put it down somewhere, it can be hard to find given its dark color. I'm just leaving them on the guitars that I play a lot at home, but don't take out with me.

As for how good they work, seems to be adequate and okay for rough tuning. Overall, these are okay tuners. I really prefer the clip-on style, but if you're like me and always have some picks in your pocket, you might like to include one of these little fellows for when you need a quick tune up.

This product is ideal for folks who don't want to clip something onto their headstocks. It uses a little magnet to stick to something magnetic, like a tuning machine or even strap screw. It is very small, easy to stow, easy to read, and fairly accurate (tested against my Snark and Boss clip-ons). However, it falls off quite easily - for example when it's attached to a tuning machine and you put your ax on the stand, that little jarring will knock it off. The tiny power button is difficult to depress. You can see by the pic that it is not a chromatic tuner, so it's only good for standard tuning. It's nice to have one of these around, but if I only had one headstock tuner, it would be a clip-on.

Accurate, but not as flexible tuning wise as other types, but this is not a criticism, just an observation. It couldn't be this small otherwise.

I saw the video his on Stupid Deal so I bought 5 of them. One for each of my guitar students and one for myself. It doesn't work with some of my guitars.

Comments about Korg Magnetune Magnetic Guitar Tuner:

I have several tuners. Korg, Vox, Snark, some downloaded ones on my phone and tablet, and Magnetune. All work well, but the Magnetune.is my favorite. It is pocket sized, easy to use, and frighteningly precise. Unlike most of the tuners, there is no range of "tuned" but an absolute!

Comments about Korg Magnetune Magnetic Guitar Tuner:

This is something you would expect from a dime store. Very cheap and totally useless. The magnet will not allow you to adjust it to a readable position without cramping your neck. It was cheap so I guess I got what I paid for. Will be throwing it away.

Comments about Korg Magnetune Magnetic Guitar Tuner:

I bought this while it was on sale. I needed another type of tuner. Works okay, but I found it a little hard to activate with that very small white button on the back. I mostly use it when seated as I don't want to lose it if I'm standing up and moving around. I might cannibalize the battery and use it in another tuner.
