As far as tuners go, i have this and the boss TU-80 tuner. the TU-80 gave out on me within a month, and this thing is still working fine three years later. I don't get what people are saying about this not being good. Unless you are deaf, you can tune with this (trust me, i had a friend use it on his first day of having a guitar. It worked fine). I use pitch pipes far more than regular electric tuners, and i love this one. Get it!

Very touchy about air pressure

Doesn't really work. Low E has two notes depending on breath. Get a harmonica instead. Or a tuning fork.

Comments about Kratt SN10 Guitar Pitchpipe:

these are getting hard to find and I'm glad to have it in my bag. sometimes you have a dead battery, or your electric tuner just up and died, or it's too dark to read the electric tuner or whatever, so i grab this thing. and hey, when the big EMP goes off, this tuner, me and my martin will still be rockin :-)

Comments about Kratt SN10 Guitar Pitchpipe:

Pitch pipes work just fine, as does this one. Before the recent advent of electronic tuners, they were the universal standard if you didn't have a piano handy. But in order to use one, you can't be tone deaf.

Price is up on these things. I bought one with my guitar back in 1978. 5.00 then. LOL Surprise they still make them. Glad MF carries them.

            • All circumstances except very noisy environments

Comments about Kratt SN10 Guitar Pitchpipe:

If it's a noisy environment, best to use a tuner that has a visible display to indicate accuracy as the surrounding noise level will drown out a pitch pipe, or at least distort the sound output of it. For quieter environments (outdoors, cafes, etc.) it works very well and is easy to carry. Also, it requires no power, so it is perfect for places where no electricity is available.

Comments about Kratt SN10 Guitar Pitchpipe:

Lightweight and easy to carry when I'm on the move...no need for a bulky powered tuner. Does not need external power, just blow into it at normal breathing volume (not excessive pressure) and you will get the correct pitch. Breathe too slowly or sharply and the pitch will distort a bit, but normal breathing is the key to accuracy. Durable and travels well. Good product and the price is right.

The worst tuner I have ever used!

Comments about Kratt SN10 Guitar Pitchpipe:

The worst tuner I have ever used. If you blow too hard it goes sharp, not hard enough and it goes flat. If you inhale you get an all different tone than if you exhale. All in all, you will be out of breath and too tired to play by the time you are done tuning. On a lighter note, if you blow in and out of all three pipes at the same time, you will get a cool harmonica sound.
