Keeps your strings clean with this product and they won't corrode, they will sound better, and they will last longer between changes. The applicator tip make this product easy to use whether swabbed directly onto the strings or applied to a clean rag that you wipe the strings with. I've used this product religiously when playing extensively and my string easily hold up a month between changes retaining their tone without tarnishing.

I just put on a set of DR strings, then thought I should "protect" the strings from corrosion while the strings are brand new. So I used it, and wiped off the excess. Well, it instantly killed my strings' bright "zing". They sound as dead as the ones I just replaced, and they have a squeaky feel (and sound) on my plucking fingers. I would not recommend it, at least for bassists. I am bummed because DR strings are not cheap (especially for a 6 string set). It may be great on guitar strings, but I wouldn't know.

I have tried evry kind of clener that you can get,this is the best I have ever used! It doesent take very much and last a long time.I apply mine to a clean rag and just wipe the strings before and after I play.It keeps my strings bright and helps to add life in between changes!

Hey All!
If you are thinking of trying this product out go for it.
I use this stuff and to tell you the truth when I don't
have this product to use it makes my playing harder.
Because it cuts down on string resistance when you're
sliding up and down the strings! Give it a try and you
will see what I mean.

Very glad to have a good product available at a great price, and free shipping helps a ton. I have a lot of guitars and its way too expensive to have to re-string them all. The Dr. will help save me some money and time.

I was never a fan of any kinds of string cleaners or lubricants. I would use plain alcohol if I had dirty strings but couldn't put a new set on right away. While alcohol will clean strings somewhat it didn't condition them in anyway so any areas on the strings that were attacked by oxidation or corrosion of some sort would quickly get oxidated and corroded againl. This isn't happening with the Dr.
Not sure if this is actually a feature, but this stuff doesn't leave any annoying residue on the strings. I have been playing the guitar for about a week since application and the strings are still great. They were already rather old when I applied the cleaner.
And as I said it doesn't leave a residue, but it still does have some sort of conditioning properties so that things like "finger noise" is minimized.
I would say it's very high quality.
Here's where is also really shines. You really can't beat the price. It doesn't take much, so I imagine the bottle will last a long time.

Good for cleaning strings after playing- constant use increases string life a noticeable amount. Works fairly well as string lube. top on bottle won't stay on well. This will cause a mess if you just toss bottle into your case or gear bag... beware.

Dr. Stringfellow sring cleaner did not actually save my life. I just said that to get you to read this review, because it is a very good product. I use it on all my acoustic guitars and have lengthened the time between string changes. Now I change strings when they wear out rather than when they get dull and "thumpy" sounding. This stuff saves me a lot of time and money. Best string cleaner that I have used, and I have used a bunch of them. Make sure you clean the top and the bottom of each string. Just spray on a rag and wipe a few times, then wipe with a dry rag. I do it before and after I play.

I love this stuff...I use it before and after playing...Before I play I always use it to make the strings nice and shinneyyyy...After playing I use it to clean the fretboard and also to give them a nice shine...They enchance the sound and the life of strings...Good stuff ;)

I love this stuff. I bought a bottle of this about 5 years ago (or longer) and still have plenty left. it only takes a little, and it lasts a long time. I also use the old bottle with the sponge top (not the spray type). I assume it's the same formula.With that said, I want to say that it makes your strings slick, smooth, and really shiny. Same thing with your frets.It also reduces string corrosion; helping to retain their bright, fresh, tone.*Tip after applying, wipe off the excess with a paper towel or polishing cloth before playing.

This stuff is fantastic! Over the years I have always had problems with string cleaners. It seemed that after I would clean them the next time I would go to play, my fingers didn't slide down the neck very easy and sometimes with MUCH difficulty. I dealt with this for years all the way up to the day I started using Dr. Stringfellow. I have never, I repeat never had this problem since I started using this product and have been using it now for at least 8 years. This stuff not only cleans the strings nicely but leaves some kind of coat on the strings that prevent them from getting tacky even when your fingers sweat and from getting rusty no matter what kind of temperature changes occur. And the stuff even smells good!
