Comments about LaBella 760FS Deep Talkin' Bass Flat Wound Standard Electric Bass Strings:

These don't like basses with thru-body bridge arrangements. The break-angle over the witness point is too acute for the core wire and it may break. It should be so indicated on the package, but is not. On an appropriate bass/bridge setup, these sound and feel great and just get funkier with time. I can see why they enjoy the flatwound legacy that they have.

Comments about LaBella 760FS Deep Talkin' Bass Flat Wound Standard Electric Bass Strings:

Trying La Bella flats for the first time -- I'm a bit disappointed. Maybe it's just the contrast with the Fender round-wounds that I just took off, but these strings sound a bit dull to me. These are the exact same gauges as the Fender M flats -- they sound about the same as a set of Fender ML flats that have been on a different bass for a couple of years. I suppose if you are just looking for bottom-end thump, these might be for you, but I think I will go back to Fender flats, because they seem to have a better top-end than these.

Comments about LaBella 760FS Deep Talkin' Bass Flat Wound Standard Electric Bass Strings:

My very first Flats. I love these strings. I am playing them today live for the first time and I am very happy with the tone, the feel, and consistency of these strings. I am getting very even tone across all strings, which I don't even get using Rounds. Very good, warm tone. I read some reviews that said they are too bright at first - I did not experience this. Using them on an American P Bass and they sound just wonderful. I am actually thinking of going to Flats on my Jazz bass also. Love them that much. Highly recommend giving them a try. Litte on the pricey side, but I fully expect to leave these on for a LONG time.
