Extra responsive strings for your bass.
Over the past two decades, the electric bass has shifted from the rhythm section to center stage as bassists have assumed the soloist's role. La Bella company president, Richard Mari Cocco, Jr. has worked closely with many of these world-renowned bass players to develop the unique design of Super Steps.
This product line has an exposed core at the bridge, which brings out the high overtone content of each note. This design maintains an exceptionally quick response with a clear, distinct sound.

Comments about LaBella SS45 Super Steps Standard Electric Bass Strings:
I'm a great fan of LaBella strings so when these came out I gave em a try. They do sound and play really good but the problem with these is in the setup. Most of the time a string change will require a little tweaking of the neck or bridge saddles if you have changed gauges or gone from rounds to flats but these are in a league of their own! The selling point is that the string is stepped out from the bare core wire at the bridge end of the string and that bare core is what lies across the saddle with the wrap starting about a half of an inch past it but in doing this the wrapped part is now considerably closer to the fingerboard and without a full setup they will just lie flat against it and the bass is totally unplayable. You'll end up having to raise the bridge saddles as high as they will go and, as in my case, I had to considerably relieve the tension on the neck as well. Thats a lot of work, tweaking, trial and error just to try out a set of strings so if you're a novice I would discourage you in purchasing these and if you know what you're doing get set for a hassle for what I found to be little reward since they don't sound any better than the Bass RX or Deep Talking sets.
