Cutting-edge passive pickups with huge sonics and totally unique look.

Lace Alumitone Single-Coil Electric Guitar Pickups offer you a radical new design that delivers high output and less resistance. You get clear, big frequency response in a completely noise-free passive pickup. Constructed with aluminum rather than copper, Lace Alumitone Pickups have a current-driven design as opposed to conventional pickups, which are voltage-based.

The aluminum water jet cut exoskeleton is mated with a micro-winding using 90% less copper wire than traditional designs for an extremely lightweight and efficient pickup. Sonically, this gives these guitar pickups more volume, more bass, and more mids with nice, clear, smooth high frequency response that cuts.

Lace includes a three-inch mini data CD that includes all its latest wiring diagrams in color along with Lace's most current pickup and guitar catalogs. Also includes a warranty card and other useful information regarding Lace Music Products.

  • Water jet cut aluminum exoskeleton
  • Noise-free current-driven design

Just incredible

Comments about Lace Alumitone Single-Coil Electric Guitar Pickup 3-Pack:

I could not be more satisfied with the tones I'm getting from these Alumiones, beautiful cleans, and incredible when overdriven.
I've been playing for 33 years, and have had dozens of guitars. I've been swapping out pickups and hardware since the eighties. As far as Strat pickups go, I've had Fender Fat 50's, Texas Specials, DiMarzio FS-1's, SDS1's, Fast Tracks, Duncan Vintage Staggared, Quarter Pounders, Vintage Hot Staggered, Rio Grandes, Bill Lawrences, and a few others. I worked in a music stores in the 80's, and had the opportunity to play Fenders, and Gibsons from the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

My current amps are a Zinky Supro Sahara and a Kustom 72 coupe Head through a Fender Tonemaster 4-12" cab.

I installed the Alumitones into a 2000 American Standard Strat with a Rosewood board. I was a bit nervous about spending the money on these, having never heard them, except for online demos.

I am overwhelmed at how great these pickups sound. The balance is incredible. I think they are anything but sterile, the are very much alive-sounding. They bring out the best of both amps I own. The Custom Coupe is a great sounding amp, but it's very Dumbley, and requires tweaking of the EQ for optimum tone. The Alumitones are very plug and play with this head, they sound great no matter how the tone controls are set.

The Zinky likes everything, and these p/up's are no exception. they have a fairly hot output, but they do not sound like high output pickups as far as one goes. They send the Zinky into a beautiful natural overdrive, but clean up incredibly when I back off the guitars volume knob.

These pickups really allow an amp's true tone to come across. I expect they might sound very bad through a cheapo amp.

I have a pedalboard full of boutique effects, and these pickups take effects better than anything I've tried. Overdrives, and distortion pedals love these pickups, I have a BMP clone that is amazing with these, they take fuzz excellent. The harmonics are everywhere, much mor than any other pickup I've tried. Modulation, Delay and Verb all sound amazing.

These are very articulate pickups, they will not hide playing inadequacies at all. If you are a player, these might be for you.

I have always had problems with Strat pickups, such as thin, trebly bridge pickups, tubby sounding rhythm pickups... The favorites I've tried are the Duncan Vintage Staggared, and Fender Fat 50's, with the Dunvans edging the Fenders by a bit. I prefer the Alumitones over either by a longshot.

If you are trying to cop someone else's tone, these pickups are not for you. They sound very different from any other pickup I've heard.
These are extremely well made pickups.
You can't get this sound from any other pickup. Noy cheap, but a definite bargain.

These Sound Awful

By LongIslandSounds

Comments about Lace Alumitone Single-Coil Electric Guitar Pickup 3-Pack:

They sound frail, and not in a good way; not in a "Stainless steel-strung Tele through a Vox" sort of way, where the chime has sonic merit. I wouldn't grab these under any circumstances - they may be inexpensive, comparatively, but there are myriad better options, even in the price range.

Not versatile at all.

Comments about Lace Alumitone Single-Coil Electric Guitar Pickup 3-Pack:

I used these pickups for about 1 and a half year in the neck and middle position of my MIM Strat. They sounded amazing through effects. If you are into experimental stuff you would like them a lot. But if you are searching for tone, look somewhere else. These pickups sounded harsh, thin and soulless in most of the amps I played through (Palominos, Marshalls DSL100, Bogner Alchemist, Line 6 Spider Valve). Good quality and outstanding technology tough, but dissapointing tone. Don't use them especially with maple fretboard guitars. Now I use dimarzios now(Chopper and Fast Track)and I couldn't be happier.

Tons of tone

By Karsten van Sander

from Princeton NJ

Comments about Lace Alumitone Single-Coil Electric Guitar Pickup 3-Pack:

I don't know why everyone says (or assumes these have no 'tone') - I have one in a strat, together with a Duncan SSL 6 and a JB, and they really add to the mix, and sound somewhat neutral, but warm and clear on their own. I wonder if their looks make everyone think they must sound technical/sterile/without character? In my experience, they don't. This is a quiet, modern single coil, and I'll buy more in the future for other projects.

Comments about Lace Alumitone Single-Coil Electric Guitar Pickup 3-Pack:

I purchased a set of alumitones and installed them in a strat copy. With only minor modifications required to the pickguard (had to square off the ends a little), these pickups offer a unique sound that is strat-like and yet more. They sound good loud, soft, clean or dirty. They maintain the all-important"in-between" sounds in the 2nd and 4th positions.I highly recomend them..they sound great and look very cool!
