Comments about Lace California Acoustic Soundhole Pickup with Endpin Jack:
Pickup itself was all that was included in the shipped box- no warranty card, no 'mini-CD', and no 'other useful information' as described in listing. Pickup is simple to install externally, but if you wanted to use the endpin jack- not word one on how to do this. I checked with the manufacturer, and they confirmed that there ARE no instructions or other information given out.
Returned the product and got the Baggs M1 (Passive). It came with wonderfully detailed install instructions, and I was up and running in about an hour.

Buy it
Easy to install in my Takamine 12-string. Great tone profile. Highly Recommended
As Expected from Lace
Pricey but worth it
Comments about Lace California Acoustic Soundhole Pickup with Endpin Jack:
I have two solid acoustic guitars and one lower quality electric-acoustic guitar that I have not been very happy with the sound. I decided to buy a soundhole pickup for my dreadnought acoustic but did not like how the wire went from the soundhole to the amp. I noticed this Lance pickup with an endpin jack but there was only one write-up at the time. I took and chance and have been pleasantly surprised with the results. The clarity and quality of the sound is much better than I expected. You do need some basic skills to drill a larger hole and install the endpin into the end of your guitar. I like the appearance of this guitar where there are no visible wires coming out of the soundhole. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and would do it all over again, given the choice.
Comments about Lace California Acoustic Soundhole Pickup with Endpin Jack:
I debated whether to mic the guitar and go for a 100% acoustic sound or install a coil pickup and enjoy an electric sound with acoustic overtones. I went for the latter and purchased the Lace California pickup. I wanted something that would tuck up neatly against the neck and slender so as not to obstruct the sound hole. To tuck it tightly against the neck I had to trim a corner of the pickup to clear the raised pick-guard. Once installed it looked pretty good. It got the acid test under florescent lights, played through a vintage Fender Bassman. The sound was better than expected and hummmmm was nowhere to be found. It's been more than a year and the pickup is still installed and doing its job. Yes, I would do it again. It is a quality built product, delivering as advertised, at a fair price.
Comments about Lace California Acoustic Soundhole Pickup with Endpin Jack:
I have a new Martin HD28LSV and was needing to go direct to the board because I kept bumping the SM57.A local salesman offered to let me try the Lace and it just fit the larger soundhole up near the neck. I hang the cord over the endpin button via a convenient adjustable loop and then plug in to the endpin jack. It all works out nicely without any harm to the Martin. I go into a SansAmp Acoustic direct box and then to the board. It sounds great. I am very pleased. The strings balance is perfect. I strum and fingerpick and both sound great. You will need a preamp to make this work. It is not loud enough without one. The SansAmp enables me to have great control over volume and EQ. I went back and bought it from the salesman. Give it a try.
