Less noise, more harmonics, more sustain.

This Lace Dually humbucker pickup is made by combining two Sensor Hot Gold single coil bridge pickups. The 13k resistance in the hot bridge indicates more power and cut for harder rockin' and searing solos.

Lace has built the Sensor Hot Gold pickups since 1985. Used exclusively by Fender until 1996, these Lace Sensor pickups have the same specifications with the same great tone.

Hot Gold Lace Sensor bridge pickups are designed to duplicate an early Fender single coil pickup with an impressively hot signal. Crisp top end and bell-like tone, it uses the latest technology to provide excellent tone for today's players.

The Lace Sensors have a unique radiant Field Barrier system that surrounds both the coil and magnets, reducing annoying 60-cycle hum. The patented Lace Micro Combs replace traditional bobbins, yielding a wider tonal range and better string balance than traditional pickups.

Unlike ordinary pickups, it generates 36 separate magnetic "sensing" fields that, in the areas where they contact the string, "read" the strings' vibration. (Regular guitar pickups only generate anywhere from 4 to 12 fields).

The Lace Sensor guitar pickup also has Radiant Field Barriers: metal slides that frame the inner core of the Sensors and perform two functions. The first is to shield the Sensor from the outside noise and 60-cycle hum. The second is to produce broader, yet more concentrated, umbrellas of sensing field than standard magnetic pickups.

Less Noise, More Harmonics
As compared to standard pickups, the Lace pickup reads a greater physical area of the string, while picking up less outside interference. This makes the signal-to-noise ratio nothing short of phenomenal for a single coil system. Also, a wider range of harmonic content is read by the Sensor, delivering a more complex tonal response.

Increased Sustain, Truer Pitch
Since it operates so efficiently, Lace Sensors can use much lower energy magnets than ordinary pickups, and this in turn brings about a whole new realm of properties. In regular pickups, the magnetic fields are so strong they physically dampen, or drag on, the strings' vibration, reducing sustain and actually changing the pitch. But in the Lace Sensor, string dampening is virtually nonexistent. This means your sustain is increased dramatically while the string holds its true pitch for the duration of the note.

Comments about Lace Sensor Hot Gold 13K Dually Humbucker Electric Guitar Bridge Pickup:

Why aren't more peope playing these? I recently installed a Lace Hot Gold Dually pickup in my SSH Strat and I love them! I have used the Lace gold single coil pickups but wanted more "oomph" for the bridge. The pickup has amazing tone, and it's a great rock/metal pickup. You get 3 tones in one pickup! You can set it up with a on/on/on switch and use the front coil, the back coil or both coils, for some great sounds. Totally innovative.

Comments about Lace Sensor Hot Gold 13K Dually Humbucker Electric Guitar Bridge Pickup:

I got a hold of an old Ibanez RG470 MIJ from a friend and decided to try and breathe some new life into it. My favorite guitar is my Strat and I love the Gold Sensor in it's neck position so I figured I'd take a similar route for the Ibanez. The ONLY negative thing to note on my strat's Gold is that the output is a bit lower than the Railhammer Hyper Vintage I have installed in the bridge. There's always a small dive in volume when I switch to the Gold mid-song. For the Ibanez, I figured "OK, let's grab a 13k Dually. That'll even things out." What I neglected to realize though is that this pup is meant for the bridge position and I was buying for the neck. I had the return policy to back me up in case it sounded bad in the neck, so I figured I'd just try it anyhow. The result? Amazing. The outputs of this Hot Gold Dually and the DiMarzio DP223 I put the bridge position are pretty even. I actually had to lower the Dually away from the strings a little bit and raise up the DiMarzio as high as I could to really even them out.
How does this thing sound in the neck position? Great! I think the 13k Bridge version is just supposed to be a bit brighter. Compared to my Gold sensor, it definitely has a "fatter" sound. Still somewhat similar though. I love it. If you like the Gold and just want to try something slightly different, these Hot Gold Duallys are definitely the way to go... they have that super-sweet bell-like strat tone... think Clapton... John Mayor... SRV... I feel like the Gold (and Hot Gold) Sensors give me the absolute perfect tone for electric blues guitar. I tried a Blue sensor once and found it to have way too much low end... almost sounded muddy at times. Gold is phenomenal. I'll be putting some type of Gold sensor in every guitar I own's neck position from now on. It sounds "boring" to do that, but I can't think of another pickup I've ever liked more for the neck. If you've never tried a Lace Gold or Hot Gold... you owe it to yourself to fix that now.
