This connector splits a signal from a 1/4" TRS stereo input into separate mono Right and Left 1/4" male connectors. Conversely it can also be used to bring two mono 1/4" signals into a single female 1/4" stereo TRS jack. Mono channels are clearly identified by color and label (Red -"RING", Black - "TIP").I had to connect my Boss GT-10's R and L outputs to my Mixer's stereo input channels using two male 1/4" mono cables. When I saw these Live Wire TRS(F)-Dual 1/4"(M) Y Cables, I thought that I could use only one 1/4" TRS stereo cable with two of these Y connectors (one at each end) and simplify the connection. I also realized that I could connect my Yamaha keyboard's stereo output that required a 1/4" TRS stereo cable to my mixer's stereo channels by using an additional Y connector at the mixer's side.I purchased three. Two for the GT-10 to mixer connection and one for the keyboard to mixer. They worked as expected. I was nicely impressed by the product's quality, and its lifetime warranty. Great product!

As I was trying to decide how to get more returns on my 16x4 stage snake, I thought to myself "If the return lines are TRS, Why can't I find an adapter with (2) 1/4" male TS plugs into a single female TRS connector and separate them at the other end of the snake with the reverse 1/4" TRS plug going to (2) female TS connectors and it works GREAT. This is the solution all soundmen doing live shows need to have. Now with my 4 returns on the snake, I can run a stereo signal to the mains, 4 monitor feeds and still have 2 1/4" TS slots available to send signals back to the board for acoustic guitars or keys. The first guy I spoke to at the store said it could NOT be done, but the second guy said "I don't see why not! If you have TRS return lines on your snake, it should work fine." He and I were RIGHT. WORKS GREAT WITH NO CROSS-FEED. This one goes on the board end of the snake and the TRS(M)-DUAL 1/4" FEMALE (part# 331081) goes at the snake end. Four sets of these and you have 8 returns! Before this, I was eating up Channel lines with adapters to get my stereo mains and 4 monitor sends back to the stage.
