I just recieved my lr baggs Para DI and its everything the other reviews said it was.  I was aprehensive, due to the price, but after talking to some of my professional musician friends, who also run lr baggs equipment, I took that leap.  Boy am I glad I did!  Heavy duty construction, and the product manual got me very close to that sound and super rich tone that I wanted from my acoustic guitar.  I'm like most others, money is an issue, but this is worth it.  I've got a 16 year old Takamine guitar with a piezo pickup, not near top of the line but unplugged it sounds awsome!  Once plugged in to my cheap little 4 channel pa, TWANG.......I am also running this pa through a Marshall combo electric guitar amp.  Struggled and struggled with the tinniness of the sound.  Without sinking a ton in a new pa system, I got the Para DI....What a rich sound and tone.  If it sounds this good through this little pa, I can only dream what it will sound like with more quality equipment!  BUY IT!

Musician's Friend also had this package on my door step in 3 days!  Great service so far, and I'll be grabbing up some other items in the near future through this store!  So far so good!  Thanks!

I have been really happy with the Para Acoustic DI.  I just had some amazing Dazzo pickups installed by Teddy Randazzo jr.  Martin D-35 running through a small amp but also had the chance to hear them through the pre-amp and a powered Yamaha msr250.  Very pleased with the purchase. You should check out the pickups too.  Very natural acoustic sound.

Thanks.

Pure gold!

Features:

Let's just create a bullet point list for this one - if you know what these terms are you'llunderstand the high rating: *low, sweepable mids, and high/treb control * notch filter *pres control *fx loop *phantom power (goodbye 9v!) *signal boost... need I say more?

Quality:

I play in a Celtic Rock/Folk band... I got one of these used off of eBay and it turned my mid-range Charvel (Fishman pickup onboard) into a decent Martin clone. The low-end Dean six string banjo we play had muddy lows and shrill highs - until it went through the Baggs. Our Fender mandolin has always had problems with feedback (heck, it was a low price) - not anymore! The build quality is great. She's a heavy, sturdy, well put together unit. We liked that used one so much we purchased two more new ones.

Value:

I normally try to buy and play used gear, because I'm broke. These were so amazing and packed with features we bought two more brand new... and the price isn't ridiculous like on some basic DI boxes with no features that I've seen.

Overall:

You already heard me rave about this, let me sum up how awesome these are... We were playing a gig in south Florida and for some reason all six of us were away from the stage. It was the end of the night and we were breaking down and loading up the trailer. Well we had our very easily recognized, unlocked money box from our merch sales sitting on the stage next to the three baggs we use. Instead of swiping the cash in the box, someone stole one of our Para DI! That's how good they are - they're better than money.

This para acoustic DI is an absolute essential piece of any acoustic guitar set up. The heavy-duty build quality is second to none, and the sound? Oh my...it makes the expression system in my Taylor 414CE sound like I'm using $2000 studio microphones. The lows are deep and powerful, the mids warm and full, and highs sing more crisply than I've ever heard them. Do yourself a favor and never be without this incredible masterpiece of technology!

Baggs says of this unit that it is "guaranteed to bring out the best in any pickup," and it's true.  It can make my tinny-sounding Bean Blossom mandolin (piezo pickup) sound mellow.  It's that good.  Really glad I bought this and would recommend it to anyone.
