Great acoustic guitar tone from your Strat.
The LR Baggs X-Bridge is a great sounding bridge even without the pickups, and its special piezo crystal employs 2 deflection modes to give you shimmering highs and rich lows. Its output level is comparable to that of a stock Strat and it will plug directly into most guitar amps with fine results. Its tremolo is provided with a Delrin arm bushing for silky smooth operation. Drops onto the posts of any American Standard Strat (with 2-1/16" spacing E to E). Comes with a one-year warranty.

This guy is worth it. I have been wanting to bring an acoustic sound to my band for awhile now. I believe transporting and stopping a show to switch to an acoustic guitar would be tacky and cumbersome, difficult and pretentious. Not any more. This is all I really need.
I liked the way the LR Baggs that came with my Breedlove sounded, so this led me to check out the X-bridge and take a chance. Glad I did.
The trickiest part of installing this for me was wiring and soldering, I made a mistake the first time around, because I figured my five-way switch was different from their diagram. Stupid me, the diagram was exactly right. Do it exactly like the diagram shows and you'll be fine.

I was replacing the bridge anyway, so this was only slightly more than I would have spent on a normal bridge.

I was a little bit pessimistic about installing this on my Strat. I mean, I AM a purist, after all! But I had an extra Strat laying around that needed some guts, so I bought it. The installation instructions were very well detailed for multiple installation scenarios (no controls, separate volume knob, etc). Then when I got the package in the mail, I sat down, read through the well-written instructions and installed it within an hour. Then when I realized that they had not sent the stereo jack with the original package, I emailed LR Baggs customer support and they shipped the part overnite with No questions whatsoever! Customer service does not get any better than that! Now, I have a SUPER sounding Strat that I can toggle back and forth (or mix) between Acoustic sounds and typical Strat sounds! The addition is perfect for a Strat! My others sit on the shelf now!!

I bought this bridge because I needed to switch in live performances between electric and acoustic sound, and I'm very glad I did. I also bought the preamp wich gives me the stereo output and other advantages, It really sounds like an acoustic guitar. Excellent for live performances.
