Comments about Ludwig Atlas Classic Bass Drum Pedal:
For years Ludwig has been out of it on their hardware. This new line hits all the right notes in terms of style and function and extablishes Ludwig not only as a major player on par with Pearl, DW etc, but also as a major innovater, which Ludwig hasn't been for years. The footboard is similar to the classic speed king era, but is much heavier and impressive looking. The beater also has a great classic look and is felt all the way around with a cool red stripe. The spring swivels were it attaches to the base of the pedal making the pedal feel smooth and substantial under your foot. The only thing I don't care for is the clamp which needs a key to tighten down and it is too close to one of the spurs so it is very tight there and the key gets stuck---so I just leave it there. This pedal is identical to the atlas pro except for the light weight wire base. If you are a Ludwig fan rejoice. If you haven't considered Ludwig hardware, you need to check this out.
