Owned 3 of these pedals. I play 3-7 gigs a week at 4 hours each. 1/4 of my performance is keyboards. these pedals haven't lasted more than a year. They drop the sustain enexpectedly a little at first and then fail completely. They might be good for a home occasional player but they don't hold up on da road!

Great value.
Simple - has one feature, and it holds notes when pressed!
Costs less than Gem pedal, and works (unlike Gem) with Casio keyboards.

Comments about M-Audio SP-2 Sustain Pedal:

Works as a simple sustain pedal with most any keyboard. Operation is smooth and quiet. I've bought several over the years, unfortunately that means they eventually fail. But for the price I usually get a good 2 or 3 years out of them. I'm just not a fan of equipment designed to have a short lifespan so you have to buy another...

Comments about M-Audio SP-2 Sustain Pedal:

Pedal works as advertised, seems to be very well made but time will tell I guess. Came with a sturdy plastic cover over chrome pedal which I believe is just for shipping, but I left it on as I figure it will keep the chrome pedal nice longer.

This damper / sustain pedal works with all my keyboards - Yamaha, Roland, and Korg. There's a small polarity switch on the bottom that enables the pedal to work with any keyboard.Have used this unit now daily for over a year without any problems - fantastic quality

We bought this for our worship band and it got used daily. The first one we purchased did not work right at all. Then Musician's Friend sent us a new one. It worked great for about 2 months and in the middle of a performance this one broke also. Just stopped working. Bought a new one somewhere else.
Love Musician's Friend. The pedal is terrible.

I purchased this for my Casio ctk-2080. Plugged it in and worked great, right out of the box.
The cord was packaged in between the pedal and plastic casing so take care when pulling it out. I've only had it for about two weeks but love it. Makes the casio sound even more like a real piano.

I have been playing the piano for 14 years, and although you never get the exact feel with a keyboard as you do with a piano, this peddle will give you a very clean and responsive sustain. Inexpensive and high quality.

I use this as a sustain pedal with a Akai MPK88 and it's great. The pedal feels wonderful. The rubber bottom keeps it in place, no sliding around. It feels fairly durable. If I was touring around the country I might want to keep a backup handy, especially at the price, but for the studio and the occasional show it should be fine.

Comments about M-Audio SP-2 Sustain Pedal:

Overall it's an excellent pedal that works well with any brand of keyboard (mine is a Casio) and I highly reccomend it to anyone who is looking for a heavy-duty, easy-to-afford, excellent pedal.
I really luv this thing! I like the way it works well with any keyboard and sustains when you push it down, not when you let it up.
It is super heavy duty ( and it does get crashed around a bit) and works very well like a regular piano sustain pedal.
Since I didn't pay tons for it i don't feel like i have to treat it all careful and stuff-it's just a great everyday pedal.

This pedal may have realistic action and a useful polarity switch but it's longevity is horrible. I am now on my second pedal and it is starting to malfunction. The first pedal lasted about one year before the sustain stopped responding. I bought a new one and a year later THE SAME THING HAPPENED, leading me to think it wasn't my doing. The M-Audio customer service also sucked, I requested a parts list from them in an attempt to fix it but they never responded. I gig about every 2 weeks with it and always treat it with respect but M-Audio has let me down on this one.

Buying the M Audio SP 2 is the best choice you can make. It has a great feel and does it's job well. The construction is solid and it stays in place while you're playing. The polarity switch on the bottom makes this product so great, as it is compatible with any keyboard. This is the solution for those of you with "reverse damper/sustain" problems due to mismatched pedals and keyboards. Highly recommended product!

Comments about M-Audio SP-2 Sustain Pedal:

The worship band that I run sound for uses this pedal on a weekly basis, and I've been running sound for them for 4 years. Our keyboard players have never said anything bad about the pedal, so I assume that it lives up to their expectations. We use it in conjunction with a Yamaha keyboard. Our pedal is probably 5 years old or better, so I would say it's pretty durable. There are 2 beefs I have with it though: 1. there is a screw inside that comes loose every year or so, and when it decides to act up in the middle of the set, it's really frustrating. It's a very easy fix, just open up the pedal and tighten it. Still really annoying. Some locktight would likely fix this permanently, I just never have any on hand. 2. it tends to slide away from your foot. Maybe it's just because the rubber has worn away over the years. The pedal is pretty heavy, which is nice. A heavy box or some gaffer's tape is a good temporary fix for a sliding pedal.Overall I would probably recommend this pedal, just be aware of the issues you may encounter.
