OVERVIEW

Great traveling stand.

The Manhasset Voyager Music Stand is perfect for touring musicians or groups. The Voyager stand has a solid, adjustable desk, yet is completely portable. With the Voyager music stand's lever locking mechanism, it takes only seconds to assemble or remove the desk and with only 2 parts to keep track of, the Voyager stand can also be stored or transported in its own tote bag (sold separately). The Voyager music desk is identical to the Symphony Stand desk (20" wide x 12-1/2" high). The height of this music stand varies infinitely from 26" to 48" (lip to floor) with a maximum overall height of 60-1/2".

I play in a string quartet and have owned 4 of these stands for 7 years. They set up and break down easily and I have found that I can fit all four into a large (30 inch) duffle bag with wheels. The only issue has been that as our repertoire has expanded, our music binders have grown heavier which causes the stand to "sink" all the way to the lowest setting. I really didn't want to give up these stands, however. My solution was to drill 3 holes (about 1 inch apart) in the telescoping pole. Placing a small bolt through the desired hole (depending on height preference) with a wing nut keeps the stand from sinking, no matter how heavy our binders get. :-)

In the promo pictures it looks like you can slide a mic stand leg underneath the tripod of the music stand. Unfortunately that is not the case. So I have to lean forward a bit more than I would like in order to turn pages. However, two compelling advantages of this stand are 1) it can be disassembled and put into the bag (it's worth it, go ahead and buy the tote) and 2) because it's a Manhasset, the Stand-Out side extensions can be added to widen the area of the desk.

Comments about Manhasset Voyager Music Stand:

For any sliding musical stand a small metal pipe clamp can be purchased at a hardware store. slip the clamp over the stand and tighten it where you want it to lock into place. Ta Da!! Your music can weigh 100 lbs and it won't slip anymore!

Comments about Manhasset Voyager Music Stand:

I sing at our Church and others at times and have found it to be exactly what I needed. Very sturdy and folds to a manageable size to load up and take where ever you need to. I am VERY satisfied with the product. Thank You Musicians Friend for making it WALLET friendly as well.

Comments about Manhasset Voyager Music Stand:

Great stable, portable stand that works with the accessories I usually use with my normal stand. I don't usually remove the top, since I have plenty of room in my car. Friends who use the stand claim that the bag intended for it is a little tight and bulky, but I don't use it myself. Overall, I find that the stability far outweighs the inconvenience of the size. It's definitely easier to fit 5 of these in my car than 5 regular Manhasset stands, which was my prior method.

Comments about Manhasset Voyager Music Stand:

It is a great stand. Its solid and will hold your music securely along with your gig light. If you are planning to use this stand for performances and will need to transport the stand, I suggest you purchase the tote bag (sold seperately). I tried to get away cheap by not ordering it and was sorry I did. I have since purchased the tote and I am pleased with the quality. If you don't mind having something rolling around in your trunk you can forgo the tote. The stand itself is well made using the standard Manhasset material we all know for the shelving unit.

Comments about Manhasset Voyager Music Stand:

The quality I've come to expect from Manhassett is certainly in this stand. One caveat: the base/legs don't feel as if they could take near the beating a standard Manhassett does.

Also worth noting is the all-plastic locking mechanism that holds the desk to the extension rod. This is, of course, also less robust than the model #48, however it enables quick building & tear-down when on the go.

Manhasset, hands down, makes the best music stands on the market. I had one of these previously and someone absconded with it. Glad to finally get another. Love it!

Comments about Manhasset Voyager Music Stand:

Have tried other less costly stands for gigs. All had difficulty securely holding a three ring gig book
and stand light. Added a brace below to ensure the hold is secure. This stand does the job well!
Desk is light weight but sturdy. Stand part of very sturdy and closes/opens easily.
