Well, i got this stand with my set, and what can i say? it isn't half bad. So far, aside from the fact that it is just a tiny little bit wobbly (well, i stick the arm way out though) i really can't say there is anything bad about this stand. The only thing is, it is a bit expensive for a stand, and i don't think it's worth that much.
I am a lead guitarist for a band who just recently got a drum set from my pops as a gift. The set rocks but the cymbals/stands are garbage so I decided to by this stand and a pearl ch70 to hold some paiste cymbals I ordered. This stand for the money is well worth it. The quality is excellent & this stand will last for years if used properly. I will be ordering another stand like this one soon. Buy one before your stuck with less quality for the same money.
Very sturdy little stand. Has all the advantages of a heavy duty stand without the weight. I put this in my trap case and immediately noticed the difference. I use it for a 20' Wuhan China and the thing does not budge. Only thing to be aware of is it does not go extremely high. I have mine sitting about 6 feet high and i whack the crap out of it and it doesnt move. I was really shocked that it didnt move for being so lightweight. And after reading other reviews about how the Wuhans crack easily that is total B.S. If you use the proper technique and snap your wrist instead of putting weight behind your arm the cymbal will last you forever. I am a heavy and loud player as anybody when i have to be and this cymbal has performed flawlessly for over a year now. Not to get off track this stand is rock solid for the money it does not have tremendous reach but if you need a reliable boom for close in this is the ticket. This stand would hold 20-22'ride or chinas effortlessly if you extend the legs properly. You'll be surprised. I was.
This stand is an amazing buy. The moment I had it set up, I knew that it would work just fine. It does what a stand is supposed to do, and it does that very well. I have the boom on maximum extension, lined up with one of the three legs, and it holds my 18" crash very nicely, even when I play heavy. I would trust it, even with a heavier ride cymbal. And the stand looks nice as well. Great buy.
Really nice stand. Doesn't tip, fall over, or slide much. Would truly recommend this product. Mapex is a good brand for accesories. Very good stand.
