I use two of these for my vintage Johnson JM250 heads. For local gigging, this is perfect. It doesn't add bulk or weight and still gives me some padding and protection from the elements. I would highly recommend this (if it fits your head) to any working musician that isn't putting his amps into a box truck but is moving his amp along with a lot of other gear using local roadies.
I use this bag for a Johnson JM250 head. It is a perfect fit for and is very convenient for protecting the head when moving it around to local gigs. It doesn't add a lot of weight and provides reasonable protection when packed with other gear. Obviously you need a hard-sided case if you plan to pack into a truck for road trips, but this is perfect for the local stuff with personal roadies.
I was fortunate. Marshall had a promotion going when I bought my head: buy the head and get this tote bag free. As others have stated, it's a nice gig bag. No gig bag is going to protect against the head being dropped, but it will protect it against brushing up against a door jam ect... and does provide padding which is good as an isolation from vibration when transporting in your trunk or whatever. If you're planning on touring and hauling your gear in a trailer, then you'll want an ATA case, not this bag, but for my purposes it works great and the price was right in my case (Free). :)Speaking of price, I think it is a bit high for a gig bag. Guitar gig bags of this quality are around $40. Bottom line, the it's a good gig bag, just a little bit overpriced.
These aren't to bad. I mean it's not an Anvil but for just carrying your head around for gigging Marshall did a good job on this one. The pockets are nice for cords and things. The carry handles are a nice feature too.
The pictures represent it well. It's made decent, although I wish the padding were even thicker than it is. It'll keep the dust off your amp and allow you to carry it easier. It will keep your head from getting knicks, scuffs and scratches, but it won't protect it from a P.A. speaker falling on it! The pocket will hold the footswitch and power/speaker cables. Overall it's pretty nice, but I think it's a little pricey for a gig bag. I'd buy another if I needed one.
I always use cloud 9 covers.I thought for the money its not bad.If you plan to keep your marshall buy a Cloud 9 Cover. You will pay more but it will last forever. My cover is starting to come apart already and of course its made in China
