I have played professionally. I'm an old guy now, but I do know strings. When I first tried these strings I gave them a good review, and I stand by what I said originally. There are, however, a couple of things you should know. These strings don't pick up well with a sound hole pickup or on an archtop guitar. They're great for acoustic playing though. Also, if your action is low, be prepared to adjust your truss rod. These strings have less tension. and you may end up with fret buzz. Loosening your truss rod a bit, might eliminate that problem.

Too bright for my ear.
I may be a stick-in-the-mud. I tried these strings in an attempt to remove a little of the brightness from my Martin HD28. I wanted a little more pop sound than Blue Grass. I got 60's 12 string sound instead. I just put them on today. I will remove them tomorrow. Some will love them. I am still searching for MY String! The Silk and Phosphor are not it! It may be the lighter guage.

The core of this string yields a lower tension. It is much easier to go back and forth among my acoustics and electrics with this string on the acoustics

Great strings, will try them on all acoustics here. Put a set on old Gibson archtop, wound strings quickly mellow to a warm bassy tone. After a few days noticed the plain strings had taken on a brass/copper patina, not sure why this is but they sound great and the color matches the others now! As far as the flex core, can't tell a great difference compared to other strings.

Needed to restring 6 of my acoustics and these were on sale. I read they were low tension but I have seen other strings that state that. These feel like electric strings but sound like acoustics..

The review required a comment, so they produce a nice constant tone when strumming.
