I was looking for light tension Martin Silk-n-Steel M1400 to put on my Ancient guitar. But I found these on sale so I gave them a shot. Once I got a 5-pack and tried them on a couple of my guitars I decided that I Love these. I put them on my newer guitars too. They are very easy to play because of the Low Tension "Silk" part. And the Phosphor part Sounds good. They sound good straight acoustic, as well as amplified on my Acoustic Electric guitar. I just pre-ordered a bunch of them for when MF gets them back in stock. And the current price is unbeatable too.

Too bright for my ear.
I may be a stick-in-the-mud. I tried these strings in an attempt to remove a little of the brightness from my Martin HD28. I wanted a little more pop sound than Blue Grass. I got 60's 12 string sound instead. I just put them on today. I will remove them tomorrow. Some will love them. I am still searching for MY String! The Silk and Phosphor are not it! It may be the lighter guage.
Martin Quality.
Value priced.

Comments about Martin FX130 Silk and Phosphor Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I concur with all of the positive comments by other reviewers. I would only add that these strings have a unique quality that makes them sound much less metallic than most strings. Their playability is without question a strong suit, however the tone is what sets them apart. If you have longed to find a string that sounds like it was made for an open air performance rather than a sanitized studio, these are the strings for you. They make me want to pick up my guitar and play!

Comments about Martin FX130 Silk and Phosphor Acoustic Guitar Strings:

My guitar is set up to have super low action so these lighter strings buzzed against the frets. Of course that is no fault of the strings themselves. When we saw the unbelievably low price we ordered 10 sets. If you have a guitar with really low action these may buzz for you as well. I'm sure a bit of paper under the bridge saddle would remedy the problem.

usualy play extra light strings on my acoustic due to poor hand strength and stamina, but these SJ flexible core are easy to play and have great tone and volume. Try them!

Thes are great for finger pickers and if you use amplification they will sound even better .I would buy them at the regular price , but at the price I paid I would buy more than one set. These I will use for a long long time .

When I first bought these strings, I figured they were good as any. After using them a while, I think they're great strings! Flexible for bends and very easy on my old arthritic hands and fingers. I have since ordered 10 sets to make sure I have plenty on hand. It never fails, when I find something I like, it gets discontinued lol. I'm putting these on my three favorite guitars...
