These are my final choice for my Taylor 314ce. I also have a Takamine eg340c and a Johnson jd16 that they are on. I've been through tons of brands in my quest to find just the right string. D's, reds, cleartone, dean markley, elixr, black diamonds, earth tones, the list goes on. The Taylor came with elixr on and no doubt they sound awesome but they can get expensive to replace and there is almost no slide noise from the fingers. Some might not agree but I think there is just something sexy about that sound, puts emphasis on your movements. That being said all I can say is I love these strings. They sound amazing on the Taylor. They don't "drag" your fingers at all. They stay sounding just the same when I go to take them off as they did when I put them on. The sound does not dull within the time frame I leave them on. Which is generally not longer than 2 weeks for a set. A good way to describe the sound to my ears is they are bright but very very crisp, not harsh but crisp. The B string is not as overly noticeable as with other strings. All 6 strings seem to blend well to make a balanced tone. At 5 bucks a set it's not going to hurt to give these a try!

These strings have a strange squeekiness on the top 4 strings(the wound ones). It's been there ever since I replaced them on my beater guitar, about 3 months ago, and it's still there. It just won't wear off. I would suggest getting Martin SP's, they're better than these.

Comments about Martin M1100 Marquis 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I regularly use these strings on my Ibanez acoustic/electric. The tone is pleasant and seems to last a good while. Overall a good set of strings.

    A nice high-quality string

    By Artie's friend Basil

from The northeastern part of the midwest

Comments about Martin M1100 Marquis 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

A fine quality string with a nice warm, even tone. The silk winding at the ball end is a nice touch. I would have prefered that the strings were packaged in a sealed plastic pouch (like D'addario's), but the paper envelopes are said to be "corrosion-resisant" (we shall see). Two stings per envelope is a bit cheesy for a class company like Martin.
Martin Marquis Sttrings are certainly one of the better quality 80/20 bronzes that your likely to find.
I caught these on sale - it was indeed a spectacular deal. I bought ten sets!

    The Only String

    By Kaleb Trail

    from Martinsburg, WV

Comments about Martin M1100 Marquis 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I have tried and played numerous string brands and finishes. This particular string with the phospher bronze is by far the best string in my opinion. It has plenty of lows and screamin treble. It is super smoothe to play and last a long time. They stay bright and don't mellow out nearly as fast as any competitor string. Straight 5's across the board. There is no other string in my opinion.

    WOW!!

Comments about Martin M1100 Marquis 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

These strings are fantastic! I took an older Simon & Patrick spruce to my local guitar shop looking to bring it back to life. The salesperson suggested these, and I couldn't be happier. They made my guitar sing like never before. It makes me want to play all of the time. Try these out, and you won't be sorry.

Martin M1100 Marquis 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic S

    By Bill Farris

    from Texas

Comments about Martin M1100 Marquis 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I use the strings a lot. I like them better than the Martin Sp series for my use. The value is great but I use them for the way they sound on my guitar. Many new strings are buzzy in sound and so far I have found less buzz with these strings.
