These strings are my everyday go to players whether I'm preforming or practicing. There's nothing sweeter than a new set of strings and I prefer to change to a new set more often rather than holding out when player the high dollar, longer lasting strings.

I read the good reviews, loved the price and ordered a few sets. But when on my Takamine they thinned out the sound like no other strings I have tried. It was so bad I lost any inspiration to even pick up my guitar. No depth from the 4th, 5th and 6th strings. No sustain. They made my guitar sound terrible. I got over the feeling of wasting a new set and replaced them later the same day. Testing the theory "you get what you pay for" I put on Martin Lifespan SP .013's. MSP7200. The difference is night and day. Tone. Resonance. Fullness. Volume. That's what I wanted. Bottom line: You can buy inexpensive/cheap strings and your guitar will sound that way. Or you can put some money into quality strings and enjoy your guitar at it's best. That's my experience anyway.

I'm getting my 10 yr old Grandson interested in guitar. Had the action lowered, bought light gauge strings to start out.

How can you go wrong with Martin acoustic strings? Bright but not to brassy, good lows.

Comments about Martin M140 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

This is the first time I have tried this particular set of Martin strings. I put them on an Ovation Celebrity that I had been using regular phosphor bronze on just to try something different. They seem to have really good tone on this guitar. I don't know yet about string life, but if they last a fair amount of time they are a good value.

I PUT THESE ON AN OLD EPIPHONE ACOUSTIC THAT HAS A BASS TONE TO IT NATURALLY. THE LIGHT STRINGS HELPED LIFT THE TONE TO A BRIGHTER SOUND. FOR THE PRICE YOU CAN'T GO WRONG.
