i own a lo-end classical guitar that i use for different songs & projects. I purchased these primarily for the ball ends as I don't like the idea of tying the ends. These strings made my guitar sound 100% better than the ones that came with the guitar. I plan on buying more of these & I also want to try the regular tension. Excellent Strings.

Comments about Martin M160 Silverplated Ball-End High Tension Nylon Classic Guitar Strings:

Not your traditional nylon strings. Very full, bold sound. After less than a week of casual playing, one string snapped in the middle of the night. Not sure if this will be a regular thing with these strings or if it was a freak accident.

Comments about Martin M160 Silverplated Ball-End High Tension Nylon Classic Guitar Strings:

I play a lot of steel string guitar and got a hybred nylon so that I could get a softer attack and more tone these strings do just that. I maintain the feel of a steel string and find a increase in volume a real plus. not recomended for a youth classical guitar beginner might be too tight.

When you have guitars in every room in the house the classical strings need to string fast , the ball ends are great because there's not slippage like the traditional way great strings as allways

Martin Hi Tansion M160 nylon guitar strings

        By Sam Yakley

        from NE Oklahoma

Comments about Martin M160 Silverplated Ball-End High Tension Nylon Classic Guitar Strings:

These strings are like stringing your guitar with rubber bands. After a few weeks they are still stretching. Now the high E has broken while resting in the case. Apparently Martin is not into nylon strings very well. I'll not be buying any more of these.

        Best acoustics I've ever played

        By David Schmitt

        from Florida

Comments about Martin M160 Silverplated Ball-End High Tension Nylon Classic Guitar Strings:

Definitely buying more, might give them away as Christmas presents this year. No kidding, that good. So, uh, if you get like 10 sets of strings in your stocking, you know who posted this review, guys ;-)
Silver/nylon doesn't start looking "cruddy" as fast as phosphor-bronze/nylon and is easy on the fingers and smooth as silk,
After a "normal" break in (put them on one day, brought just up to tune, left it alone until ready to play with it a few days later) they stretched very little after that, no more than "fresh" steel acoustic strings.
Amazing price for such a great set of strings.

        Break too easily

        By Roger

        from Kansas

Comments about Martin M160 Silverplated Ball-End High Tension Nylon Classic Guitar Strings:

I purchased 3 sets of these. Within the first hour of receiving them, I broke the high E string in 2 of the sets. I was careful to tighten them slowly and still had them break. The second one broke while the guitar was not even being played. I got it up to pitch, played for a while, set it down, and 5 minutes later I heard it snap. There has to be some brand that does not have this problem. I won't buy anymore of these. They are crap.
