Comments about Martin M175 80/20 Bronze Custom Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Sometimes in life you don't have to spend a fortune to get great quality. I've found over the years that Martin guitar strings are very reasonably priced, but you don't sacrifice any quality. I do gigs every weekend and have never had any problems with Martin strings. In fact, I love 'em! And this custom light set is great for my smaller bodied guitar. The guitar I'm putting them on has a smaller, narrower neck than my other guitars. The manufacturer recommends the standard light strings, and I've been using them with no problem for years. But when I would replace my strings, I always felt like the G (3rd) string took more effort to tighten because there seemed to be more tension. When I saw this custom set, I thought it might reduce some of that tension on the neck. These strings are lighter than the standard light strings but not drastically. Just enough to take some pressure off the neck and perhaps ease some wear on my fingers as well. These custom light strings are .011-.052 guage. The standard lights are .012-.054

I have used these strings to play gigs and they do the job they are supposed to for a cheap price. They haven't lost their tone and are still crisp after playing for a long time.

Comments about Martin M175 80/20 Bronze Custom Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

It can take years to find the right model and brand of string for you, your instrument, and style of playing. Acoustic strings often show more obvious differences between them than electric. I play both, so just the fact that they have 11's is enough to recommend them. After 40 years, I'm sold on these.
