Comments about Martin M2100 Marquis Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I have been using these strings for many years. I've tried almost every other brand that I can think of and none are any better than the Martin Maquis. The sound is very balanced and strong. And they sound just as good on any brand of instrument that I have tried them on.

Comments about Martin M2100 Marquis Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

For the money it is my experience that these are the best acoustic guitar strings Martin sells. My D-18 and Takamine sound their best with these installed. The full spectrum of my instruments can be heard with high, mids and lows ringing out to full potential. While fresh strings always sound the best to me, I can go two full performances without changing strings. After trying various others I now only use the Martin Marquis M2100. It's a great feeling to have confidence that your strings will not break during a performance. When using these I have never experienced a broken string at any time during a recording, rehearsal or performance. I really like the felt winding that protects the guitar's bridge too.

Comments about Martin M2100 Marquis Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I love these strings. I especially love the silk ends of these strings. They keep my bridge from getting chewed up. Tone is very pleasant and projects very well. These strings also wear very well, the tone becomes warmer but not dull. The sustain remains intact as these get more worn in too. Hands down the best strings you can get for your acoustic, in my opinion.

I bought two sets of these strings for others: one for my son, and the other as a gift for a friend. Both were pleased with these strings.

I bought these strings based on my positive experience with the M1700 Marquis 80/20 bronze strings for one of my 12-string guitars. I like the silk ends which help keep the bridge pins tight.

Comments about Martin M2100 Marquis Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I've tried most all of the other types and brands of guitar strings, even other Martin strings, but the best one for my tastes and preferences is clearly the Martin Marquis brand. I like the Phosphor Bronze Light ones for my uses, but any of the Martin Marquis brands never disappoints. To me it's night and day between these and any other brand of string, but maybe that's just me. I play an Ovation Legend and a Gibson Hummingbird, where one I a very shallow-bowl guitar and the other is more like a big bodied dreadnought and these strings ring true, clear, bright, and beefy (when they need to be) on either of these guitars. I would without a doubt highly recommend these to ANY acoustic guitar player looking for a better sound OR the BEST sound. Usually it was the price that was the only CON with these strings, but with Musician's Friend having them VERY CHEAP, I can't think of any "CONs" to these strings. I only chose the "price" under CON's, because it makes you choose something.

Comments about Martin M2100 Marquis Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I recently switched from the M2200 back to the M2100. I had thought I needed the heavier string to get "POP" from, but these are just as lively and with more sustain. Great for vocal acc.
If you are heavy handed the M2200 is for you. These have more steel than the 1100 and seem to last considerably longer. I usually change after ab out 10-12 hours of hard playing.
