I love the sound of these strings. They hold their tune very well. Only had to retune a couple of times.

I recently put a set of these on my Barcelona Dobro, and as with all Martin brand strings they are Awesome! Good and stiff, stay in tune and the stevens bar slides smoothly on them, highky recommend these to any Dobro player!
And through this site they are a Great buy!!

    Great strings, Great value

Comments about Martin M980 Nickel Wound Bluegrass Resonator Guitar Strings:

    As already state- highly recommended
I should admit that I have never purchased any other resonator strings, being a new resontaor guitar owner, but you HAVE to get special resonator- nickel- strings for your resonator guitar and these have done well and are a great value.

Slide conversion gives new life to an old guitar!

    By Bill Larson

    from Arizona

Comments about Martin M980 Nickel Wound Bluegrass Resonator Guitar Strings:

Bought the steel guitar strings and nut to convert an old acoustic guitar to a slide guitar. Tricky fitting the nut to a fast neck, but applying tension evenly to the strings worked out fine even with the nut being wider than the guitar neck. Love the sound I get from this slide guitar now.

    Only strings I use

    By JP-LUgBI

    from Cartersville, GA

Comments about Martin M980 Nickel Wound Bluegrass Resonator Guitar Strings:

These are the only strings I use on both my dobro and my lap steel that I tune in open D. The price is right and they last. In 3 years of playing these strings daily I've only ever had one string to break. I change my strings about once a month. Price is right too!

    Excellent for Slide Work

    By Anonymous

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Martin M980 Nickel Wound Bluegrass Resonator Guitar Strings:

My regal steel resonator came with lighter strings, which were much too bright and did not hold up well to slide play. Some new Martin Resonator strings and it was like a whole new guitar. A rich tone and very durable.

Best Resonator Strings for the Money

    By PoorBoy

    from Beaverton, OR

Comments about Martin M980 Nickel Wound Bluegrass Resonator Guitar Strings:

About 4 months ago I got a Rogue Classic Spider Resonator after playing electric guitar for about 4 years now. It's a great Resonator for the money. Just this weekend I replaced the stock strings with Martin M980 Resonator strings. Not only did this improve the sound tremendously, it also made playing this guitar even easier. Just replacing the strings was comparable to the first time I had my Strat set-up by a tech. This is the first set of strings I've put on this guitar since it was new so I can't compare these to Elixir's or D'Addario's but for the money you can't beat these strings. I'm glad I bought 2 sets because I will use these again!
