Best strings I've ever used!

These strings do exactly what they say. Your guitars voice will never sound better. I love them on my Martin OM-15. These strings bring something special out of the mahogany.

Have been playing since the early 60's, acoustic, electric and resonator. These strings are overly bright with unusual harmonics. If you are looking to make your guitar sound sorta like a bad resonator, I guess you would like these. They do not have the balance or tone of phosphor bronze. I guess they will be OK on my cigar box guitar. Strings are all in the user's taste. I don't care for the sound, You might.

Comments about Martin MM11 Retro Series Custom Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

As a person who performs 3 hour shows with their acoustic, I can vouch for the Martin Retro Strings. These strings hold their tone throughout the night, have never broken during any of my performances and have a better cost ratio than what I've been using. These are used on a Martin D-18 plugged in. The high, mid and low frequencies are all there and stay there all night. I also have come to prefer the feeling of the nickel as compared to the brass. The gauges of the custom light strings are a little more forgiving to the left hand too.

Comments about Martin MM11 Retro Series Custom Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I purchased these strings on sale to give them a try. I put them on a cheap Yamaha that I use for practice. They produce a lively bright tone and was a big improvement over what I had on there. It actually made the guitar sound like a much more expensive model. I own several Martin guitars which I use the SP strings. I like those but these are great on this Yamaha.

remember how good guitars sounded on a lot of old records?..they had a fat tone..soft and not harsh....but loud....an even tone..with good projection.......thats how these strings sound....i couldn't believe how much i loved the new sound of my Martin with these strings....i am going to buy a boat load of them , in case they quit making them...i will never go back to bronze or phos. bronze....those string are for strummers..i am a picker.......

These strings were a pleasant surprise !! Very easy on the fingers and a sweet, full ranged tone! On the warm end of the spectrum but well defined and rich sounding!!

I had a set of these that I had bought and never used that I put on a Martin D-18 that I've had for years. No electronics, just a really great sound. Wow! I immediately decided to get another set and put them on my Taylor GS-mini. Really cool X 2. Sounded so good I bought the pick up for the mini and installed it. I really like these strings. My mini and Cube amp turn my living room into my private concert hall and I can play in my easy chair.

Comments about Martin MM11 Retro Series Custom Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Been pick'n n grinn'n since the late 60's. In addition to my ele. guitars, I use 6 acoustic guitars and these strings overall simply stand tall with all the rest I've used. I find that the resonance and sustain is absolutely enhanced on every ax at every tuning used. I change em quite frequently, but at the sale price you and your playing can't go wrong.

I have on occasion used pure nickel custom lights for a nice warm vintage tone. These strings sound as good or better for half the price. I use Martin LifeSpan 80/20 Bronze Custom Lights on both of my acoustic/electrics.......I'll start alternating between guitars with a set of Retro Custom Lights from now on.
