Works great for me

I did read the other reviews and did not have the same issues some have had. I use this for practice and don't use a stand or light when I perform.

I did read the other reviews and did not have the same issues some have had. I use this for practice and don't use a stand or light when I perform.

It takes 3 triple a batteries that I have not had to replace in a month and a 1/2 since I recieved the light. The battery compartment is tight on the unit and I have not had an issue with it opening up at all.

The LED lights are nice and bright and I like the fact that it has 2 fully adjustable lights with their own on/off buttons. You can use one or both.

I like the fact that it uses batteries and I don't need more wires cluttering things up.

One reviewer said you can power it off of a USB port from a computer. I have no idea what they are talking about. There is no plug on the light and I don't know any USB adapter that can take the shape of 3 aaa bateries. Maybe they reviewed the wrong product???

I was sceptical with the low price but the light has exceeded my expectations. If it does wear out or break after a couple years I feel I would have gotten my money's worth from it.

I bought two of these lights and have really liked the compact size and the fact that these run on batteries - very handy for outdoor gigs where outlets may not be available. However, after several hours of use the bulbs eventually dim to a blueish hue which doesn't really put out enough light to read the music. A fresh battery made no difference - the problem is in the LED bulbs themselves. Other musicians I know have this same problem with this particular light. At this point, I'm starting to look around at traditional plug-in stand lights which yield more light and have replacement bulbs that are readily available.

Nice Light With a Design Flaw

By tipperdon

from Missouri

Comments about Mighty Bright XtraFlex Duet LED Music Light:

Just got my light over the weekend and have only tested at home so far. Got it after seeing some other musicians at a rehearsal using one to help improve the horrid lighting in the room.Overall, it looks like it's going to be a great little light, but there is one considerable design flaw. Basically, to open the jaws of the clamp, you have to grip the back of the product - on the battery door. With enough pressure to just open the clamp, the battery door slides open too! Yet there's really no other way to hold the light to clamp it on something unless you use two hands - something you shouldn't have to do with such a small clamp. Not enough of an issue to return, but it makes you wonder why they'd design it this way. I can see it's going to be a small frustration every time I want to clip the light to something.

A great little light for music stands. easy to clip on, bright enough to cover the whole music stand in little to no light. very portable and easy to change aaa batteries out on the fly.

Accent battery operated music stand light

    By Richard Schuette

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Mighty Bright XtraFlex Duet LED Music Light:

I'm a relatively new adult musician in my first ensemble. I purchased the light because I typically practice in my home in the evenings, after dark. I have no other stand light to compare it to but I concur with the reviewer who noted that pinching it onto the music stand often causes the rear battery compartment cover to pop off. However, it works great without batteries if you happen to have a PC with a USB port within cord reach...not very practical for actual gigs or ensemble practice.

The real problem I have with this product is that the bulbs dimmed and burned out after less than five hours of actual use. I doubt whether it is worth the cost to purchase replacement bulbs, so I will give up on this product and purchase an AC (electrical plug) model as a replacement.

But I'm willing to admit that perhaps I just happened to purchase a bad unit.

good portability; medium amount of light

    By shades_off

    from San Francisco Bay Area

Comments about Mighty Bright XtraFlex Duet LED Music Light:

The best feature is how easy this is to carry around; easily fits into a purse or case and seems sturdy enough not to need a case. However, the light is not nearly as bright as a regular stand light, and the double bulb set up causes hot spots and dark patches. I'm unclear whether the bulbs can be replaced and if it would be cost effective. I would recommend for a young person with good eyesight.

LED Music Light - Batterty Powered

    By Michael Phillips

    from Baja California, Mexico

Comments about Mighty Bright XtraFlex Duet LED Music Light:

My lower ratings are due to the fact I ordered the wrong product. I personally would buy the 120V version as it is working very well for me, gives plenty of light, and stays put on my conductor stand, also from Musician's Friend.
I actually purchased this battery powered light by mistake. I have the 120V powered version of this light and like it so well I "thought" I ordered another. However, I have used it as a spare for jam sessions or when additional power is not available for a month now and I have not experienced the issues reported by other reviewers. Not what I thought I ordered but so far so good.

      Works for me!

      By Reppiks

      from New Jersey

Comments about Mighty Bright XtraFlex Duet LED Music Light:

I bought this item to use at my churches Candle Light Service. I've tested it in various lighting situations and found it perfect for my needs. By raising up the goose necks a little higher, both pages are illuminated evenly, no dark spots. Not as bright as a corded light fixture, but a fair trade to be wireless.

      useless batteries

Comments about Mighty Bright XtraFlex Duet LED Music Light:

I think this is a good light. Just bought one, took it to the open mic I host, turned it on and couldn't even tell if it was on or not without looking directly into the lights. Super dim. Took it home and put good batteries in it and it was plenty bright. If something comes with batteries I don' expect them to last long but these things were useless. Come on MF, check this stuff out!
