I bought the MT-PT1 strictly from recommendations of other customers. I switch back and forth from keyboards to the guitar depending on the song, and my guitar warms-up and cools-down several times while going through the set.
When I hit the button to tune, the read-out is large, highly visible, and I like it. Don't spend twice as much for something that does the same function. It works, and it does not suck your sound. The bypass works.
Besides, now when the lead guitarist plays on a different pitch, it is on him.

The Mod Tone MP-PT1 tuner is a bit hard to use due to the fact that the PITCH & FLAT buttons are very close to the on/off switch. If you are playing live in a dimly lit room & accidently hit one of these buttons, it will cause you problems if trying to fine tune live. The Plastic top is easily scratched & broken. I have learned thru experience Mod Tone DOES NOT have a customer service line, despite their advertised "5 year warranty". Exchanging emails with them is very time consuming (Days became weeks)..& yielded me negative (NONE) results...The battery compartment is VERY hard to access. This unit (& another 4 Mod Tone pedals) arrived with dead batteries...After a few weeks of use this unit has become a bit noisy...not like a "complete by-pass should be..." as advertised...Given my experience with their pedals & customer service I WOULD NOT recommend any Mod Tone products.

Comments about Modtone MT-PT1 Professional Chromatic Tuner Pedal:

Tracks and grabs the note fast, much better than my older pedal tuners(ZOOM, Danelectro). Works down to C# on guitar with no problem. Works on bass, but I've only gone to Drop-D. DC jack is on the side right next to the 1/4" input, NOT on the back like my other ModTone pedal(Buzz Boy) or BOSS pedals. 5 stars for features to value.

Comments about Modtone MT-PT1 Professional Chromatic Tuner Pedal:

The unit seems to be designed well. I wouldn't say it's build like a tank, but it has some weight and doesn't feel cheap. It's bright, clear, and easy to read in the dark or sunlight. Depending if you use the output or bypass option, you can choose if you'll mute the signal or not when the tuner is activated.

I couldn't bring myself to spend what most cost on something as simple as a tuner, but I'd say this is more than worth what I payed when it was on sale. At it's normal selling price, it's still a pretty good deal.

Comments about Modtone MT-PT1 Professional Chromatic Tuner Pedal:

I've not had much opportunity to use it thus far, but the MT-PT1 is pretty much what I was looking for in setting up another pedal board. It provides a strong reading of the tuning in question and the display is nicely visible. Smallish package saves room on the board. Does what it's supposed to do and does it at a very tolerable price. If it proves durable, dandy.

Comments about Modtone MT-PT1 Professional Chromatic Tuner Pedal:

Bought this on sale for a pretty cheap price. My initial thought was how bad could it be. It's a tuner. I've used cheap tuners before and never had a problem. First thing I noticed when I plugged in my one spot power was that the 9v adapter plug didn't fit. It slipped off the plug at least twice before I even plugged my guitar in. Click it on to tune and it lights up and power dies. After some more fidgeting with power I got it to stay on long enough to start tuning. I went to tune into drop -d and it couldn't handle the low d notes. Just kept jumping back and forth til I got frustrated and pulled out my snark. I had it for a total of 3 days before I traded it in for a Korg. Not to mention I used it in a effects chain and it cut the power to my sound mid song because even if it's just sitting there the power adapter doesn't stay connected

Inexpensive tuner with bright display, accurate tracking and bypass. Can set to non standard tuning if you like or just by sight to the notes you want.

Good for my home studio. Compact design fits well on my board. First effect in my signal chain at front of amp followed by compressor, keeley super overdrive than eh bm pedal.

This is an excellent basic tuner. Not sure what the pitch and flat buttons actually do, but not what I bought it for on the SDOTD. Nice big screen, suppose it could crack if u whacked it hard enough. A little bit of pop with the on/off button, a lot of pedals do. Really liking the battery compartment. If this thing comes back on SDOTD I just might grab another!

I really like the large blue letter display. Easy to see and seems to be pretty accurate and has a fairly quick response. I have only used the tuner for a couple weeks but it seems like a well built and reliable pedal. Great deal for the money.
