I read about this cable in a magazine. Rush's producer, Nick, was saying how great the cable was and how there was a noticeable difference in sound and volume. I was intrigued and wanted to give the cables a try. I went out on a limb and bought one, not liking the price. I plugged it in when I got it and there actually was a small difference. I bought another one shortly after and I plan to buy even more when my budget allows it.I was helping my engineer setup to record my bandmates guitar track. We got everything setup with him in the room and his amp on ANOTHER FLOOR! Talk about awkward. I can't even begin to describe how much noise came from that cab. We messed around with different things and nothing worked. I realized I had the two Mogami cables with me. We plugged one in and it cut the noise IN HALF! Plugged in the other one and it cut the noise in half again. Not only are these cables great for sound but they help eliminate noise as well. Take a chance with this cable. Just make sure you use it in front of your other cables or it will defeat the purpose of even having it.

I agree with others here who have said that the fancy red Neutrix plug used on the guitar end of this cable is problematic. I too have had the plug pop right out of the jack without notice from the spring pressure used in this plug. Even more annoying is the fact that the cylindrical spring-loaded steel collar used at the top of the red plug sometimes prevents the plug from fully seating itself deep enough into the guitar's jack, especially on Stratpcasters, causing shorted connections. It became so annoying and troublesome for me that I simply chopped-off that spring-loaded red Neutrix plug from both of my Mogami cables and replaced them with standard Neutrix plugs. Its now much better because of the change, but that shouldn't have been necessary, so personally, I wouldn't buy this cable again. Its just not worth it.

Comments about Mogami Platinum Guitar Cable:
These are hands down the best cables I've ever used (been playing 25 years+). I thought true transparency was a white whale before I upgraded to these fantastic cables. If you have a couple hundred extra and you want to improve your sound, don't buy yet another redundant pedal that you don't really need, buy proper cables.

Comments about Mogami Platinum Guitar Cable:
It;s simply amazing. There are a few YouTube reviews but you can actually hear a difference using the cable, even over Monster. Pricey, yes, but well worth it. I just purchased another.

Comments about Mogami Platinum Guitar Cable:
I really did have to re-think my tone stack after switching to this cable. My old cable had a warm tone that I was used to and worked for me but this baby opened up my tone significantly, and for the better!

Comments about Mogami Platinum Guitar Cable:
The best cable I have found. I don't like Monster Cables because I think they add a digital high end sound. These seem to have a nice flat EQ that doesn't screw up your tone. The noiseless plug is really great and the big gauge of the cable is top notch. I have not found a better quality cable. Price is rough but compared to others it's not too bad. I wouldn't mind trying bullet cables though. As of now these are the best. Win.
Comments about Mogami Platinum Guitar Cable:
I plugged in and immediately had to change the tone controls on my amp. When I had it dialed in, it was audibly similar as far as spectral content compared to running with my previous cable, but seemed more open and clear. It also has a "silent" end that allows hot swaps from one guitar to the next. It appears to be very well made. This cable definitely made a difference. Is it worth what it costs? It is for me, and I will probably buy a few more of them now that I know I like them. It appears to be sourced in the USA, and it comes with a lifetime warranty.
Comments about Mogami Platinum Guitar Cable:
I play bass and tried this cable against the Evidence HG. Mogami did not have the punch, clarity, or volume of Evidence. It did, however, have a false low end. But then sgain I thought the Mogami gold is better than the Platinum at a better price. Or maybe I just got a bad one? I can't recommend this cable.
Comments about Mogami Platinum Guitar Cable:
No, seriously... I am a five string bassist, recording artist and still have incredible hearing (a little loss on bass frequencies on my left side due to driving around with my car window open). The Platinum with the Neutrik Silent Connector is THE BEST CABLE I have ever owned. I've had the Monsters, the molecule-aligned pure silver stuff, the esoteric stuff from names that have disappeared in the years since I've gotten them... Mogami has impressed me immensely. I gave them a look when I found out my Basson bass cabinet had Mogami wire on the inside (connecting speakers). Whew!!! Very transparent. Plugged a Strat and a Carvin in too, clear as a bell across the spectrum. Even plugged my kid's electric violin in. Nothing matches the sonic quality of the Mogami. What else??? Oh yeah, I laughed when I saw the warning sticker on the container... You bet, I ate crow on that... I had to adjust my audio interface, my amp, my preamp and my way of thinking about cables.
Comments about Mogami Platinum Guitar Cable:
I own both the Mogami Gold and Platinum series guitar cables. The gold adds some low frequency coloration to what is otherwise a very pure sound. The platinum cable takes it over the top with extremely transparent, colorless tone that will capture every nuance of your playing. I know the platinums are expensive, but they are worth every cent if you want the absolute, hands down, best sounding cable on the market. This cable is much thicker than most cables which helps add to the durability of the product.
