OVERVIEW

Smart case design.

There are three major components of the MONO bass case that distinguish it from other gig bags: the headlock, the boot and the top-loading feature. The idea for a new case design was born of the ages old scenario of grabbing the guitar out of the side of a partially unzipped case while standing up. We do this to save space, to save time, or to save our backs. It is the guitar gig bag equivalent of the apple falling on Newton's head.

This observation became the driving concept behind the Vertigo, the world's first top-loading guitar case. The top-loading feature might have been enough, but MONO also redesigned the Headlock for automatic neck support. Then they created The Boot, a rubber sole designed for unsurpassed protection against vertical drops.

HEADLOCK
The Vertigo features a fully redesigned Headlock neck suspension system. No strapping, buckling, or belting required. No extra steps. Just throw your bass in and the neck finds a natural resting point in the base of the Headlock. Then zip the case up and the top section of the Headlock automatically clamps down over your bass, holding it firmly in place. Your headstock is now fully protected against backward drops and side-to-side impact. Lightning fast!

THE BOOT
Another first of its kind, The Boot takes guitar protection to a new level. Using manufacturing technologies from the footwear industry, the Vertigo bounces off of concrete like a pair of cross trainers. With its custom molded rubber outsole and EVA insole, The Boot also protects strap pins of all shapes and sizes from those nasty vertical drops. Travel in confidence and style. It's a good look.
TOP-LOADING
A slick feature that you will come to love. The Vertigo does not open like a traditional guitar case. Its design allows you to quickly unzip the case and pull your bass out from the top. A hidden diagonal hinge on the front panel of the case enables this. Once unzipped, the case naturally opens out and to the right. No need to lay your guitar case down on the floor.

The Vertigo is appointed with smart storage and rugged hardware for a life of travel. A deep front pocket keeps your essentials at-hand. The optional Guitar Tick provides room for much more. Steel riveted handles and dual zippers come standard, as does the Sharkskin water resistant outer shell.

Fits all standard electric bass guitars including Fender, Ibanez, Fodera, Warwick, Tobias, Yamaha. Also fits some not-so-standard bass guitars. This product is covered under MONO's 3 year limited liability warranty.

Comments about MONO Vertigo Bass Guitar Case:

I have always used cases some included with the instrument and some of my favorites use flight cases. I have seen some gig bags that I would not feel safe using. This "gig bag" is super , top loading took a few times to get used to , now it is second nature. If your wondering what will fit I can assure you these will. Wal Bass MK1 , Wal bass MK2 , Wal bass MK3-5string , Fender Jazz , and my Rickenbackers. I could not be happier . If I were to go long distances and they would be in the back of the truck , then I would surely use their cases. Yet for practices and local gigs , great fit in the car while saving the interior and easy on the back. Another plus , as a bass "gig bag" the headstock height is correct , it does not hit the top of the door frames .

Comments about MONO Vertigo Bass Guitar Case:

I love soft cases, since I load my own gear in a jeep for local gigs. No stuff being tossed in the back of a group van. This is a well designed case. I like the top load and the rigid neck- lock feature. The "sneaker" is a great idea. There are extra D-rings, so I slung a piece of line between two, high up and across the neck, so now have a high handle front and rear when the case is upright, in addition to regular guitar handle and backpack handle. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars, is that for the price, they should have gone the extra mile and included a raincoat in a little pocket like I have on a Gator guitar soft case.

Comments about MONO Vertigo Bass Guitar Case:

I have played bass guitar for over 50 years and this was a present for myself. I have some very nice basses and had lesser quality gig bags and hard cases that I did not like. This gig bag is intended to hold my Musicman Stingray HH 5 string and it fits perfectly. The hard cases no longer fit in the back seat of my new Honda Accord so I sought out an upscale gig bag . This is a well made product and I did lots of research prior to buying one from Musician's Friend. It has limited storage but I did not want to cram up a gig bag with effects, a class D amp, or other stuff that should be packed separately anyway and not subject my bass to extra weight. The neck lock system does a fantastic job of supporting my basses neck and it is automatic when the bag is closed with no Velcro straps to mess with. Plenty of room for extra strings, cables, batteries, small tool kit and other items. I will not buy an overpriced "tick" bag that hangs from the upper neck area. It should have an upper handle but does not. I love how it opens vertically do you do not have to search out a table or floor to lay the case down to get my bass out which will be great at some of the Blues Jams I go to for fun. Only takes seconds to remove or install my bass instead of fumbling around with a case of flat loading gig bag. The backpack straps are comfortable despite another gig bag company saying they were not. Even the handle is nicely padded and well balanced. I shopped all over and by far Musician's Friend had the best buy on this very nice gig bag. I think it will make me a better bass player perhaps in my mind and I am very happy with this purchase! My bag is just like Victor Wooten's.
