OVERVIEW

A revolution in guitar case design and technology that's convenient as well as functional.

We've all seen it (and done it) hundreds of times: grabbing the guitar out of the side of a partially unzipped case while standing up. You do this to save space, to save time, or to save our backs. This observation became the driving concept behind the Vertigo, the world's first top-loading guitar case. The top loading feature might have been enough, but Mono went ahead and redesigned the Headlock for automatic neck support. Then they created The Boot, a rubber sole designed for unsurpassed protection against vertical drops.

HEADLOCK
The Vertigo features a fully redesigned Headlock neck suspension system. No strapping, buckling, or belting required. No extra steps. Just throw your guitar in and the neck finds a natural resting point in the base of the Headlock. Then zip the case up and the top section of the Headlock automatically clamps down over your guitar, holding it firmly in place. Your headstock is now fully protected against backward drops and side-to-side impact. Lightning fast!

THE BOOT
Another first of its kind, The Boot takes guitar protection to a new level. Using manufacturing technologies from the footwear industry, the Vertigo bounces off of concrete like a pair of cross trainers. With its custom molded rubber outsole and EVA insole, The Boot also protects strap pins of all shapes and sizes from those nasty vertical drops. Travel in confidence and style. It's a good look.

TOP-LOADING
A slick feature that you will come to love. The Vertigo does not open like a traditional guitar case. Its design allows you to quickly unzip the case and pull your guitar out from the top. This is enabled by a hidden diagonal hinge on the front panel of the case. Once unzipped, the case naturally opens out and to the right. No need to lay your guitar case down on the floor. Stop bending over. Nobody wants to see that. Take a stand!

BUILT TO MOVE
Everything in its place. Specialized storage compartments put your gear right where you need it. Deep gussets make sure your small items stay put. And the hidden upper pocket keeps your wallet, keys, and cell concealed on that subway ride.

the padding is amazing, it cradles my guitar. headlock is also pretty amazing, shows how practical the case is. Fits all my guitars perfectly.

I bought this gig bag because I could see from pictures and description would be a good product. However, when I bought a high quality gig bag like that I wasn't expecting that the cover couldn't totally open. Every time I put the instrument in the bag there will always have a chance of scratch it. So that's a mahor problem for me. The maker should find a way that the cover can be completely opened to avoid any damage on the guitar body.

Comments about MONO Vertigo Electric Guitar Case:

The soft case that came with my JTV-89F is minimal at best. I wasn't going to take my guitar out in that thing. I feel confident this will protect my guitar and the vertical loading is very convenient. I love the quality, very well made and I can see this lasting many years with constant use.

Comments about MONO Vertigo Electric Guitar Case:

I'm tired of lugging my heavy hard case around everywhere, so I'm glad I found Mono. All of their cases are heavy duty in protection but light weight at the sametime, but I like the Vertigo in particular because it has a "top loading" feature. That means that you load and unload the guitar from the top, so you don't have to constantly put down the case and open it all the way on the floor everytime you want to pull it out. A reviewer here mentioned he didn't like the case because of that which is fair, but that's the whole selling point of the product. That's like saying you don't like a hybrid electric car because it doesn't run on gas. It also has a rubber boot on the bottom which is killer. I could bounce the thing up and down and not ever be worried about my guitar inside. Not that I would, but it makes sense that you would protect the bottom of the case due to the fact that you stand it up so much.

Comments about MONO Vertigo Electric Guitar Case:

I bought a VERTIGO Mono case for two reasons: Normally I wouldn't consider this kind of gig bag/case. I believe in standard, hardshell cases. However, a couple of years ago I purchased a Fender John Mayer Strat. At first I was disappointed that the Mayer Strat came with an INCASE gigbag/case rather than a hardshell case. But once I got it, the INCASE bag turned out to be much more than I thought it would be. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I still would rather have had a standard FENDER hardshell case, but I had to admit that the INCASE bag was actually very good. Secondly, I had two guitars that didn't have cases. Both were non-standard body shapes. I had seen the advertising for the MONO Vertigo, watched the videos, and read their promos and so I thought I would try one.

There's certainly nothing at all wrong with the MONO Vertigo bag. The heavy rubber bottom is excellent. A great idea. The neck support is also very good. Other reviewers have commented on the fact that you have to slide your guitar in from the top. MONO's take on this is "how often do you have room to lay your case down?" That's debatable. I haven't found the top-loading feature to be much of a problem. It is something to consider.

To be honest, once I got it, my initial reaction after spending a little time with it was that I went and got the INCASE bag to refresh my memory and actually considered returning the MONO Vertigo and ordering an INCASE. It was then that I learned that INCASE had gone out of busines. I was surprised because, frankly, I think they had a superior product.

Nonetheless, I kept the Vertigo bag and would reiterate that there is not a thing wrong with it. And I honestly can't say that I wouldn't order another one at some point in the future if the need arose. The rubber bottom and neck support are the strong points. Beyond that, I thought the INCASE was, overall, more substantial.

It just seems a bit overpriced to me.

Comments about MONO Vertigo Electric Guitar Case:

I always use rigid foam lightweight cases for my guitars....I tend to like the SKB's. But a recent gtr purchase did not fit nicely in any of the standard choices. I researched the Mono bags (and I have a pedal case from them which is very nice), so I pulled the trigger. This is a very nice bag. The upright loading is nice, though I am a little anxious about sliding the gtr in and how that will effect the bridge. But generally so far so good. The construction is very rugged and the design is well above average. It has lots of storage space, though not as much as the earlier M80 model for electric gtrs. However, I like the support the gtr gets in the vertigo better than the M80, so I recommend the Vertigo. Also better protection on the bridge end around the strap-button. If I could I would get a rigid foam model like the SKBs if it was available, but no luck, so I figure this is the next best alternative. But, it is a very nice case, looks very solid and has a great warranty. Price is steep. I waited for a coupon. But overall, I think it is def a good purchase.

Great gigbag for traveling to and from practice sesions and gigs! A great alternative to a large, heavy hardshell case. Well designed and well built! My only complaint is cost. It costs more than most hardshell cases.

Comments about MONO Vertigo Electric Guitar Case:

Looking good so far. The design is obviously superior, which is why I selected this gig bag. The build quality seems very good. Have used it only a couple weeks going to rehearsals so far. We'll see how it fares after a few gigs then a few years. but I don't expect any early failures. The zippers look to be good quality, which is crucial.

I was concerned my Fano JM6, a Jazzmaster size and shape, would fit tight or not at all. I had read that Jazzmasters don't fit in some gig bags. But I emailed the company and they did respond, saying it would fit. there's even a little room to spare. The neck support feature is a super bonus and the heavy rubber boot at the bottom is awesome. I despise bad design, and this product is very thoughtfully engineered.
