I bought this cord for my wife who plays bass. She has owned a shorter bass Monster cable for many years and had no problems at all; it still works fine. She needed a new cord to connect from her processor to the bass, and the other Monster is used to connect from the processor to the amp. When the Monster connection was complete, the preamp had to be turned down on the amp due a stronger signal level which was clipping. After that adjustment, things were working great. Next, the eq needed adjustment since more bass frequencies were coming through. Overall, the entire frequency range increased. There is definitely more depth to the sound. These are objective measures that couldn't be ignored. I would say we noticed the difference.

I'm writing to anyone who has bought into the hype of monster cable. Stop paying for the "monster" name. While these are great sounding cables they are trash, this is the most unreliable cable I have ever owned. I bought a store brand cable 15 years ago and have never had to worry about it shorting out on me, but I have owned 2 of these monsters and for less than 3 years and I have had to take them back 3 times because they shorted out. And I am anal about how my gear is taken care of. I can't rely on these for a show so I now feel like I wasted money, and I'm stuck with two cables I can't use live. So please don't buy into the hype monster has feed us, they put a warranty on their product because they know it will break.

I cannot tell a big difference with a gigging rig....makes huge difference with a practice amp, though! It really thickened up the bottom and tamed the top...using an acoustic b20 for practice that is.

Some people will tell you a cable is a cable, not true. High quality cables DO make a difference in your sound and are well worth the money. I was using my Monster Rock cable for my bass guitar and wanted to try the Monster bass cable and I can certainly tell a big difference. If you play bass, you need to buy this cable, of course, having a good amp helps alot too.

I'm not the easiest on equipment and the side body jack input of my bass probably isn't the easiest on cables. My likes: their support and the sound. Dislikes: quality.
I can't really say that I notice the sound difference but I'm still happy with the product
I recently purchased the straight to straight because I've had issues with my two sets of 21' straight to angled. Don't ask why I have two sets - too embarrased to say that I thought I had lost one so ordered another. Good thing that I had two though because I've had to send them back 3-4 times over the course of 8 years. Other reviewers said the straight to straight were more dependable so that's my story. Carry a spare!!
I have to say that their support is steller. Never a question in replacement. Shipping it back isn't cheap though. You would think that for the price that these should be bomb proof.
Yea, they are expensive but it's worth it for me to sound as good as possible and cut through the mix.

i havent owned this cable long, but so far, its been holding up great. im using a rogue 5 string and this cable makes it sound really good. it said to inhance low frequencies and it does just that. great bass tone, great durability, and a lifetime warranty, cant beat that!

Don't think for a minute that because you spend more $$ for this cable Monster that you'll be getting a superior product. I've owned a pair of these and they just don't hold up. I like the improved sound quality but, they are undependable. I'm not a jump around type guy either. The quality is very suspect here. Also, don't think because Monster makes claims of lifetime guarentees that they will back that up. I've tried repeatedly to gain any customer service from them without any success. The cables have a shorting problem after normal use. Which I think should be priority #1 for a high end cable company. There're several companies out there doing high cables, I'd suggest them over Monster.

These cables are great quality. There is no difference in tone (to me), but there is a differnce in quality between these and cheaper cables I've owned. I'm sure you can read all about audio, cable tests, and spend a day looking at charts with a 0db reference point. My opinion, buy a monster guitar cable if you want a durable cable that you won't have to replace in the near future, not if you are looking to improve sound.

My bands bass player has this cable. He got it used from a friend in exchange for a little guitar practice amp. And as soon as he plugged into his mesa full stack with this cable there was a lot more depth and low end in our bands mix. The difference was immediate, there was much more definition to his tone and more punch. So this cable is guaranteed to impact bass tone

I've read articles about how cords don't matter because the are all relatively the same, well those may not all be so correct after all. I use rotosound bass strings with this cord and the sound is really booming and warm the strings were very noticeable but the cord brought it to a whole new level. I would recommend this to anyone.
