First, I definitely heard a difference in the sound coming out of my bass rigs-and for that matter, the bass cable sounded GREAT with my PRS MC Carty guitars, and my PRS original EG. It was hard to asy what the cable did for the guitars-but it was a rich sound. As for basses, it was an obvious increase in punch and warm clarity. And mind you, I'm both skeptical, and a little at a loss as to the subtle differences in components like wires,etc. But I heard it, and it was real. Very much worth it for a high quality 21' foot cable. BUT WAIT...there's a downside. I broke off the angle end of the cable in a bass. No big deal. But when I went for my free replacement, I found the new one was made of an irrationally stiff stock of rubber. This thing acted like a 21-foot python that had a love for wrapping around my leg! It turned from a 21' to about a 6', while grabbing me like it was ALIVE. Annoyed the crap out of me, and was about useless in the studio or on stage. So I sadly returned it for a Mogami...the Mogami is is soft, and sounds good, no reliability issues...but It ain't the sound quality of the Monster. Hey Monster! could you finish up the great designs with a rubber that doesn't try to shorten up and strangle us? Maybe some are stiffer than others, maybe it's a Quality Control issue. Maybe some are softer than others. But what I experienced was RIDICULOUS. So, I can't go back until they get softer, with less clinging/ snarling. AND REALLY WANT TO RETURN TO MONSTER. Heck, I'll drop on the STUDIO cable with it's cloth wrap, if that reduces the python effect. I don't want to end up on the National Enquirer as the musician who was throttled to death by a posessed instrument cable. Except fo the coiling issue, I'd give Monster a perfect rating. Hey Monster, You listening?

It certainly feels like a solid cable in your hands - but... that's not what counts. First, I've never seen a cable that so apt to kinking. Great cable if you want to trip over kinks and coils on the floor. I can't believe how easily it wanted to knot-up. And alas,.. I just went to use my year old cable and - no sound. Just an intermittent connection when I jiggled the wire. Seems the wire broke just outside one of the jacks. I can see how this could happen - there is no strain relief at all outside the jack - and there needs to be. Sorry Monster, I'm going back to a nice flexible tweed cable with a strain relief.

This cable does what is says! I tried my old cable with my bass and played some music and listened to the tone and etc. Then plugged in this cable and WOW, I did hear a difference with the bass using this cable. It does provide that lower frequency boost that other cables lack!

I noticed an improvement with this Monster cable over my old one within the first few minutes. Definite sound improvement. The only thing I wish I had known about this particular cable before buying one is it's inability to lay flat on the floor. This thing is so stiff it will actually coil up in the way creating a tripping hazard... or worse... an unplugging hazard! I was constantly pulling the slack and trying to throw it back out of my way. Otherwise, if you pay attention where your cords are it's not a big deal.

Over a 35 year music career I have tried (and trashed) more cables than I can count. They were all cheapies and for ages I just assumed they all were until I invested in a Monster cable for stage work. As a gigging musician I was astounded at the difference the cable made. Zero noise, tough as nails and an absolutely flawless reproduction of sound that brought out tones I didn't even know existed. I bought my first Monster almost a decade ago and it still performs just as good as the new ones I've bought and used to replace every single cable in my signal chain. And I do mean EVERY ONE too, from my external speaker cabs that move the air I push with my basses to the shorties that connect my pedals together and I've never sounded better. If you're tired of cheap cables that die on stage or crackle during recording then do something about it and invest in Monster cables cause you're crazy if you don't! Sure they're expensive but look at it this way, you'll never have to buy another cable again, ever.

All i can say is WOW!! I have used a variety of cables over the years, most have been the Horizon US vintage cables locally available. LOVE them. I recently bacame REALLY picky about my sound. I have ALWAYS have used MONSTER products for home audio, so I figured i would give their inst. cables a whirl. I just did a side by side comparison with my trusty horizon with the same bass/amp/effects chain......HOLY COW!!! VERY noticeable difference in volume and clarity! ALSO the small hiss I had is GONE! Best small gear purchase in years!!

a great heavy bass cord. i would recomend all bass players to use a specific cord designed for your instrument. there is no humm or crackle off these heavy cords that deliver the extra punch.

These do exactly what they're supposed to do...work well on electric bass guitar and are a good value, especially for recording or home use. Not sure how the stiffness and construction would hold up on the road.
Excellent quality. Cable is relatively stiff ...only wish they made a long version with two right-angled ends!
Have only used in the studio, so i can't comment how they'd hold up on live gigs, but I will say that they are very well "tuned" to the electric bass. Punchy!
Not cheap but by no means as expensive as the high-end cables like Mogami, etc. Therefore a relatively good buy...for electric bass that is.

Bought this cable about a year ago. It definintely sounds better than any other cable I've used. Did A-B tests with other cables and this one definitely had an improved sound, as the manfacturers claim. Not much, but definitely noticable, which is great for a cable. Have not had any interference issues at any gig. Buy it, you'll be glad.
