Got this as a early Christmas gift and let me tell you thing thing rocks.. the sound is awesome, thought for a minute it was a different bass I was playing but thats just how good this cord is. I have never spent this much on a cord before but it was worth it.If you want a sweet patch, get this....
I recently purchased the 12 and 21' versions of these cables. The angled plug is longer than the straight plug and does not fit properly. I checked many different 1/4" jacks and the same problem. I called monster and they want me to send them in since they haven't heard of this problem before. Supposedly I will get brand new replacements...we will see. I also have a straight-straight cord like this and it is great.
I play a tele, generally prefer clean sound; needed a cable quickly. Got it because it was available. The speakers sounded as if covered by a thick blanket. The next day at home when compared with other cables, it sounded more muffled, less crisp and bright. The first guitar I played and 10 watt amp are kept as souveniers in basement. I attached it there, and I can now play it for old times sake. It's good enough for that.
I've done the whole "buy a zillion cheap cables and hope they last" thing before, and they never do. All my cables were shorting on me, so I decided to spring for a GOOD cable. Monster was the one the guy recomended, and I'd heard it was one of the best, so I got this one. I didn't know what I was missing! Sure it's expesnsive, but it's so worth it. This thing SO improved my sound. Now my Fender fat strat has the classic Fender twang that wasn't there before. These cables are the best you can buy. Plus they have a warrenty, and if anything goes wrong, Monster will replace. So you never have to buy another cable again. Monster is the only cable I'll ever buy, the sound quality, the durabilty, the value, pick up a bunch of these. You won't be disapointed.
I bought the 12' about 3 years ago and have never had a problem. I can't really speak how it sounds compared to others except for one time when a friend was getting some interference from a radio station, and when he switched to my cable it went away. I've realized that Monster products are overpriced, but it's been good to me regardless. Rolls nicely for storage, comes with a velcro strip, and different color bands to easily identify yours at a gig.
I couldn't believe the amazing clarity I received from this cable, I bought it at Guitar Center (on sort of an impulse), and had a band practiced the next day, I can confidently say that my bass rig sounded AMAZINGMonster all the way ^^
