The Moses Graphite MJGF-F Graphite Fretless Jazz Bass Neck has an integrated graphite fingerboard, and a black, wear-resistant, non-sticky graphite finish. All Moses neck models feature 'fine tune' truss rod systems. Moses necks deliver excellent swell and sustain, a strong fundamental, and increased, even harmonics.
Graphite necks feel smooth to your fingers and don't get sticky. They absorb less vibrations than wood necks and allow you to select which frequencies you want to use and shape to find your sound. Tired of readjusting your instrument's neck? The stiffness of the graphite neck also results in amazing sustain and stability.
Moses Graphite necks are suitable for use on Fender, Music Man, G&L, Warmoth and many other manufactured 4-string basses, and 6-string guitars. These necks can also be used on custom instruments.
All necks are sold with single-rod 'fine tune' truss rod systems and are supplied with unfitted, unslotted graphite nut blanks.
Necks are supplied with heels not drilled for mounting. All necks are sold with a 4-hole self-tapping brass threaded insert/stainless steel machine screw heel mount kit.

Was it worth the effort? The headaches? The running out hunt down a weird sized specialty drill bit? The going back to the internet to order a nut blank and hunt down installation tips? The answer: a resounding "No". For the same price I could have had a VERY nice, superb quality neck from Warmoth and installation would have been a breeze compared. Sound wise, it is not as "brittle" as I was expecting with great definition and a very nice deep growl. Playability-wise it is fantastic... dreamy even, very fast and amazingly smooth to the touch. Too little, too late in my humble opinion.
Low rating here because of the difficulty in installing this neck and lack of attention to detail. Very sharp looking black "pencil lead" neck that is super smooth to the touch. Included 8-32 bolts and threaded brass inserts for neck mounting. Missing graphite nut blank for the nut slot- oops. Missing installation guide/manual- oops. Tuner reams were severely undersized and required further reaming in order to fit my BML type tuners. Buyer is required to drill mounting holes and install the brass inserts in the heel in order to mount neck to the body- not a process for those lacking in patience. Odd sized "brad point" bit is a must for clean holes and drill press recommended. Not a "bolt-n-go" replacement neck. Holes for tuner screws also need to be precisely sized, or else you risk snapping of the screw heads in a hole just "slightly" smaller than needed. Truss adjustment at the heel ?? Who thought of that?? Setup is a bear because once installed the setup process requires a continuous remove neck/adjust truss rod **slightly**/ reinstall neck/strings back to tension/wait/check process. I have built numerous basses before this install and never had anything so "complicated".
Large air pocket "bubble" in middle of headstock noticed only when looking through the tuner reams. Small air "bubbles" noticed at bottom of nut slot.... how many more throughout the neck?? Very clean fretboard. Wonderfully sculpted and a very "thin" feeling cross-section that plays very easily and very fast. Missing items listed as "included", namely the nut blank and installation guide. The latter being VERY important as this is no ordinary neck install. I personally don't think this neck should have made it past QC at the Moses factory with the clearly noticed air pockets. If the bubbles were not there, i feel quality would be exemplary.
Another low score simply because this neck is an expensive investment, and the effort needed to get it installed and playable is somewhat out of the ordinary. That plus the missing and much needed nut and guide, and the obvious lack of attention to detail by quality controle at Moses, sends me awash with buyers remorse.
