I too suffered from putting it together as the photo shows. This is incorrect. You can?t put anything on it the way the photo shows. I put it in the closet for about 3 months because I thought it was worthless. I pulled it out the other day, put it together ?backwards?, and found out it works perfect. Very stable. It lacks pads to protect your amp, so I added Felt strips. Cost me a few dollars to add those.I also wish it could go a bit lower. I?ve pulled the adjusters and just let it slide all the way down, but I would be nice if it could go down at least another six inches.Overall, it is still a great value if you know what you are getting into. But it appears because of the lack of instructions and the bad photo, we don?t.

My initial assessment of this product is that it is poorly designed and incorrectly balanced. I have tested this product with my Fender Deville 410 amplifier. If you install the "L-shape" support arms with the longer arm supporting the back of the amp(*as it's advertised and pictured*) the entire assembly, stand and amp, will tip over:( However, if you install the support arms up-side-down, with the longer arms along side the bottom of the amp(as another reviewer mentioned) you will get better, but still less than ideal results. The angle of the triangular base needs to be increased a good 20 or so degrees to properly balance an amp of similar size... missed the mark on this one.

The picture is wrong...

By Sornord-lg1-z

from Damascus, Syria (since Sep '04)

The picture on the web site shows the support arms installed backwards, which causes the balance problems other reviewers had. I did the same thing with the first one I set up (I own four of them). If the support arems are installed with the LONGER arms on the bottom, it is VERY stable.

Great.

No instructions, but simple to figure out. As the other reviewer mentioned, be sure the longer arms are on the bottom. Very tippy if you install the arms as they have it currently pictured.

Poorly Engineered

Amp stand may tip over if it is not put on its lowest setting. Rubber feet do not set squarely on the floor.

Goos Stand for price

This is a pretty good sturdy amp stand. The adjustable height is a big plus.

good buy for the money

By Rockinjoe

This stand is good quality and is durable and easy to transport and set up. I would like to make one suggestion and that the short bar support be put in the rear and the long bar toward the front. By doing this it provides stability (the picture of stand is incorrectly positioned).

Twins, singles, holds 'em all!

By Palladin

from Des Moines, IA

Bought one, was afraid would be useable only with Fender Twin, but was happy to find that works with Polytone 15 single, and Session 500 also. Really HD unit - now, don't need the "chair"! And it is perfect height - no having to hold guitar and bend over! Good piece! Thanks!

Axman amp stand review

By Anonymous

Could benefit with a tiltable/adjustable angle, but it's generally fine and rugged enough for gigging. It does a good job getting your amp up off of a bar floor and is a lot better than a chair.

Great Stand

By Anonymous

Nice Sturdy Stand with adjustable height. Make sure you install the holding arms with the longer side towards the bottom of the amp. People complain about the amp tilting because they incorrectly install the holders with the shorter legs at the bottom holding the amp. I bought 2 of these. One for me Fender Deluxe 90 and one for my roland VGA-3. Great stand!

Rated two out of ten across the board.

By Jim T.

from Clearwater, FL

I've used this stand on only two gigs, and already one of the adjustment handles has fallen off. Cradle legs don't fold for transport. Black coating flakes off. Amp sits too far forward off center of gravity on any but lowest setting, making it unstable. The amp I use it with only weighs 30 lbs!! Putting a 50 or 60 lb. amp on this thing would just be asking for trouble. Save your money!
