This is one of the nicest stands I have purchased for light weight and other needs. I use these stands for backdrops/curtains which they are superb. I use a pair to hang a screen on and they are perfect. I also use them for LED lighting and they are great for that too. They seem to be made well and they hold together. If you have something heavy then get ultimate or something but if you need a stand for many various uses this is a very good choice.
When I opened the box I found no directions. Even though it's embarrassing to admit,it took me a while before I realized that there is a bar within the second bar up that connects to the "T" bar. It seems very stable with the wide leg base. Way to go Musicians Friend!
I thought I had ordered this same stand before...I had not. The first stand I ordered was an OnStage stand-very nice. I got this stand and was disappointed. It is tall, but is small. It has one ince pipe instead of 1.5 inch. Cannot interchange hardware between stands.
I ordered the Elation PAR 56/T16F lighting package. Everything with the system is good with the exception of the stand. The PAR 56 lights will fit on the stand, as long as you don't need to make any adjustments. I had to return the stand and replaced it with the Adam LTS-01B Lighting Stand. Now I'm very happy. 'Let there be light,' and also, light stand.
It is usually true that you get what you pay for, but this was a little more than I expected for the money. Tall, stable. The lightweight tubing and plastic connectors and clamps are a little scary - thought I was going to crush the cross bar with the C-clamps (but I didn't). For an occasional user, or a situation where they don't have to move around a lot, this stand is a great deal. It had diagonal supports for the "T" bar even though not shown in the illustration. The "T" bar is 1.5" in diameter, so don't buy the recommended 1" clamps - they won't fit. All dimensions should be stated in the description. And yes, you would have a hard time putting four Par 56 cans on this crossbar. I hung two Par 56 cans underneath it, and put two Par 38 cans on the top with "C" clamps. Value, Value, Value. Thank you Musician's Friend.

This stand is nice if you need to get some par cans in the air. Do not attempt to put anything else on it, it will not hold the weight. This stand cannot hold above 27 lbs. I mostly use it to hold one light or two tops, because it cannot hold any more. It has low quality, but a low price tag.
I ordered the Elation PAR 56 lighting system at a great price and I'm happy with everything except the light stand. It does not work for PAR 56 cans. The T bar holes are to close together and are made for PAR 38 or something small. And the T16F controller will not hang on a round bar. So now I have to go through the hassle of returning the light stand for one that works.
